Very loosely inspired by the song Even Angels Fall by Jessica Riddle. Basically I was in a John/Teyla mood because there hasn't been enough on the show and my roommate had a song on that reminded me of Even Angels Fall which then inspired this. And I do have longer works in progress but it might be a while before they're ready to post.
Tag to The Prodigal, I know others have done it and I hope I haven't accidentally tread on anyone's toes.
Teyla is no angel and when she falls she wonders how she will find her way back.
She has killed before but always out of self preservation. This time she killed out of anger. Out of hatred. Out of passion.
She has no regrets. She would do it over again. He was a threat to her son, a threat to her, a threat to all of Atlantis.
But he had not died in a fair fight.
She had an unfair advantage.
He deserved it.
Right?
If she said she had no remorse it would be a lie. She would rather he had died on his feet.
She has remorse but she has no regrets.
She would do it over again.
But Teyla fell from grace and she wonders if she can find it again.
She thinks maybe she can.
The look in John's eyes after the incident does not help. It is a mixture of surprise and pity, also understanding. But it said that he knew.
He knew that it was not her. It was her anger, her hatred, her passion.
Teyla is not a woman controlled by her passions.
She knows that. John knows that.
And though he says nothing. She knows that there is judgment.
She also knows he would have done the same thing and that makes her feel slightly better.
Teyla is not a woman controlled by her passions.
John knows that more than anyone.
Teyla is lost and part of her wishes she could stay that way. It would be easier.
But she knows she must find her way back.
Comments are most definitely welcomed.
