Maggie always found peace sitting at the back of the garden, looking up at the mountains. You could hear nothing except for the birds in the distance. It was peaceful.
On a day like today when everyone was busy, she enjoyed coming down here and enjoying the view and the peace. Rashel and Quinn were training with Poppy, James, Jez and Morgead while Keller and Galen were reading in the library. Lord Thierry had taken Lady Hannah away for a romantic weekend and left Galen and Keller in charge. That hadn't gone down well with Morgead because he liked to be in charge. Luckily Jez had calmed him down.
Delos was still away on a mission in New England which meant Maggie was along. Not that she minded that but she missed Delos and just wanted to be in his arms. She knew he needed to go on these missions for Daybreak but it still hurt to be away from him.
"It's hurt me too," a voice called. Maggie jumped up from where she had been curled up on a chair and turned around. Delos stood there watching her, with a small smile on his face.
"How long have you been watching me?" Maggie asked, walking towards him slowly. She could swear that he blushed, if that was even possible for a vampire.
"A while," he admitted quietly. Maggie smiled and walked to stand in front of him. "I've missed you Delos," she told him. His smile grew as he pulled her against him. "I've missed you too Maggie… my Maggie," he kissed her forehead. "I love you my saviour," he smiled.
Maggie still didn't understand why he said that. When she had asked him before, he had told her it was because she had saved him from his evil self and had changed him into something better.
"I love you too, my Delos," she kissed his lips before he led the way back to the mansion, holding her hand.
