Title: Absolution

Summary: It's supposed to be impossible but it's not. Yamanaka Ino is back in the past.

Date: January 4, 2014

Ino woke up and the world wasn't the same.

"I'm small again," she murmured to herself quietly with widened eyes. She felt astonished as she gazed around her room back when she still lived in the main Yamanaka clan home. She lowered her gaze to her hands and stared at its smallness.

Truly she felt surprised. "Naruto's time seal must've worked. It's supposed to be impossible but it's not."

She was really back in the past.

"Ino! Today is the day you find out about your teams! Better not be late!" It was her mother.

"Yes, mom!" She responded loudly as she got ready to leave.

On the way, she ran into Sakura.

"I'm going to sit next to Sasuke!" Sakura declared.

Ino stared dully. Did she really like that guy before? She had nearly forgotten about her illogical crush on the Uchiha. She chose to not respond to Sakura. Instead, she merely walked onward into the classroom as if she never heard the other.

She didn't see Sakura gape in surprise behind her.

"How could you just ignore me like that!?" Sakura snapped. Somehow, Ino chose a seat on the right of the classroom and Sakura, instead of focusing on Sasuke, chose to sit next to Ino.

Ino rolled her eyes. "We're ninja now, Sakura. I, personally, don't have time for silly crushes on silly boys I barely even know."

Sakura gasped. "How could you say that? I can't believe this! Our rivalry was all about Sasuke!"

"I don't want to be rivals anymore, Sakura." Ino stated.

"You want nothing to do with me!?" Sakura's tone of voice was rough but it was obviously she felt hurt.

Ino sighed. "Why don't we just be friends again, Sakura?"

"You're so different!" Sakura exclaimed before continuing, "It must be a trick so you can have Sasuke!"

"I don't want him. Maybe I did before but I don't anymore."

Sakura was unconvinced, "You're lying! I don't believe you!"

"I don't need you to." Ino turned away from Sakura, "If you don't want to be friends, why don't you go sit somewhere else?"

"Fine. I will!" Sakura stomped off. At the corner of Ino's eyes, she saw Sakura try to force Naruto to move out of his seat next to Sasuke. Ino closed her eyes, allowing her mind to wander. She felt so peaceful.

The teams were the same as before. She was with Asuma, Shikamaru, and Chouji.

"I'm worried about her. She's acting so different. She even finished her entire plate of food-and she asked for seconds!" It was her mother.

"She's fine. Likely, Ino is just growing up! At least she's no longer fixated on that Uchiha boy." It was her father.

"This is our daughter! How can you be so unconcerned!?"

"Is there something to be concerned about? She's eating healthy and she's taking being a ninja more seriously."

"She's training too hard! Did you see her do those chakra exercises? It was exhausting her but she wouldn't stop! Moderation is needed!"

"Chakra exercises are good. It helps to improve her chakra control and the amount of chakra she has to call upon."

"You don't care about our daughter. Only I do."

"Dear..." she heard her father try to say as her mother stormed off.
