Miley's POV
They were fighting again and I'm glad that Noah was over at the Jonas' house having a play date with Frankie. The constant yelling echoed through the house and even the shattering of glass could be heard. I don't know what went wrong with my family but after we decided to end Hannah Montana after the fourth season everything changed.
My mom went out to Party almost every night while my dad was at home with us. In the middle of the night she would call and demand that Dad should pick her up. She was drunk and couldn't walk by herself anymore that night and that was the last push. Dad told her to clean up her act the next morning but Mom just ignored his words and told him that she would go out that night again.
The actual end of their marriage was, that Mom brought home some random dude.
Dad packed some necessary stuff into a suitcase and told Mom to leave. That happened just an hour ago.
Now they're screaming while I'm sitting in my room waiting for it to stop.
My hands are pressed to my ears to block out the voices and sounds, I just wanna be safe and sound in his arms.
But that won't happen because we decided that it would be the best if we are only friends. After everything we hurt each other a lot and I don't think that heartbreak is something I need right now.
Still would his protective arms around me feel good. Just thinking about how he would probably comfort me made me feel a little bit better.
(a text convoy)
Miley: Can I come over?
Nick: Sure. When?
Miley: Now.
Nick: I'll wait for you at the door ;)
His last text makes me smile. Not just the text, it's the fact that he really will be waiting at his door for me.
I put on my shoes and take a tour jacket from a chair beside me.
I quickly walk over to their house since it's right next to ours and there he's sitting on the front porch, reading a book and waiting for me.
I can feel the smile in my face slowly growing as I walk up to him. As soon as I'm only a few feet away he closes his book and smiles at me. He gets up and hugs me with a smile on both our faces.
He takes my hand and leads me up to his room. We're watching the Notebook while he holds me in his arms. He never starts to talk about why I came over, because he knows that something is up.
It's already dark outside and we're just lying on his bed, the sound of rain hitting his window.
"You wanna tell me what's wrong?", he asks while stroking my hair. "My parents are fighting all the time and it's official now that they're getting a divorce." I look up into his eyes and he leans down to place a soft kiss on my forehead. "Everything is going to be okay. And if you ever need something you know that I'm only one phone call away from you". I smile at his sweet words but I don't really know what I should respond. He's been doing so much for me lately and all I do is cry into his shirts.
"Thank you"
"For what?"
"For staying here when everyone left", I look up and see that our faces are only inches apart.
One of His rough but soft hands cups one of my cheeks and other one snakes around my waist to pull me into his muscular body and his lips meet mine. I melt into the kiss and I knew that my life will get better. With him by my side. Forever and Always.
