A/N: Written for The "Inspiration of a Title"-challenge by CrAzY flamINGO . My title was 'Moonwalk.'

Most people love to walk out under a full moon. The light is silvery and mysterious, evoking a feeling of peace and the conviction that anything is possible. Lovers kiss under this light, finding in its rays a romance that bright sunlight cannot match. Moonlight is beautiful and magical, hiding as much as it reveals.

Remus Lupin does not share this favourable view of a full moon. The sight of the silvery orb gazing coldly down from the inky sky means nothing but horror and suffering to him. He can never walk beneath its light with a lover; he can never enjoy its mysterious, otherworldly qualities. Without the wolfsbane potion, every full moon would mean a loss of control, would mean he would be transformed into a wild creature that would kill and maim with abandon, would even attack those whom he loves deeply while in his right mind.

In his nightmares every night, Remus watches himself tear his family and friends to pieces. Every morning he wakes terrified, his heart racing, his palms damp; he has to see his loved ones safe before he can calm himself.

After the birth of his son, he begins to see a possibly brighter future. With the wolfsbane potion, he keeps himself under control, and with his beloved wife beside him, even the nightmares seem lessened. Those around him see a marked difference in his demeanour, as his smile, so seldom seen before, becomes a common appearance.

He goes to the battle at Hogwarts against Voldemort with hope in his heart, his beautiful wife at his side. Their son waits in safety for their return. Remus is certain that this time, Voldemort will be defeated and he and his family will finally live in peace.
