A/N: This is just a random fanfic I made for Pandora Hearts. I don't hate Gilbert, but I just find it funny how he finds adorable little cats frightening. Anyway, enjoy.

Whispers. That's what Gilbert hears every night. He doesn't know what they mean but they definitely mean something. Is it important? Did something bad happen? Is he involved? Every night he comes up with these questions. They give him chills. They were starting to annoy him but he still wanted to know why he hears things. But he only made out one word throughout the whispers. Something dangerous. His biggest fear: Cats.
Ok, cats. So what? He knows all about cats. Those flithy, dangerous, furry vermin who hisses and scratches at you for a living. Why would they whisper cats every night? But then he realized that they weren't saying it to annoy him. They were saying it to WARN him. It's true.
Because when morning came, Gilbert found a cat on the ceiling. He screamed as it smiled at him and dropped onto his face. Gilbert shrieked again but when he finally managed to get it off, he realized that it was only a cat plushie. He sighed with relief but still pushed it away from him until it was out of sight in the corner of his bedroom.
Gilbert shivered and went downstairs. But at the bottom of the stairwell was...
Another cat.
He gasped and jumped back. Seriously? Another cat? He prayed and hoped that it was just a plushie like he saw in his bedroom. But it wasn't a plushie cat. It was real. And it was coming towards him. He screamed for what seemed like a millionth time but it was no use. Nobody came to rescue him.
He grabbed a broom and wacked it, which only made the cat angrier. And...more cats came! They were coming after him! He yelled at them to go away but they still kept coming. The first kitten crawled up his leg, another clinged onto his arm, another on his head, and more and more came!
Gilbert continued to cuss at them and flung his arms and legs, desperate to get them off.
Just when the last cat towered over his face and took over his vision, he was on...his bedroom floor?
He looked around and gasped. It was only a dream. He relaxed his shoulderd and placed a hand over his pounding heart.
He sat there for a moment to take in the dream. Then, sat up and rubbed his eyes, only to find a cat on his lap.
