Ezra looked up as Josiah entered the church and quickly gathered his cards. "And that concludes today's lesson."
"Aw . . . "
Josiah looked at the gambler with a raised brow. "You wouldn't be teaching this innocent child how to sin in my church, would you, Ezra?"
"Perish the thought!" Ezra exclaimed, clasping a hand to his chest. "Ah would nevah cross train this dear boy in the fine arts o' poker an' blackjack as mah Mother did me when Ah was his age."
"No," Josiah replied with a knowing grin, "but you would teach him one. His parents're here to collect him."
