Iridescent

Hermione looked around her, her beloved school in ruins, people she knew and loved dead, the survivors carrying them into the great hall. A swift emotion of desperation haunted her. She had to find him, she just had to. Suddenly she felt herself moving slowly, walking in small steps, as if finding her balance. Then her strides got bigger and bigger, then faster, until she was running, ignoring the pounding of her heart and the cold of the spring air. He was everything to her; her best friend, her confidante, her soul mate. She couldn't hear anything, couldn't feel anything. She just ran, looking for him amidst the ruins. She ran and she ran until her body started to feel the fatigue of running and she stopped. She knelt down, and for the first time in a long time, prayed. She prayed that she would find him safe. She prayed that they would finally get married and have the life they'd dreamed of for so long. She buried her hands in her face and wept, as the feeling of losing hope crept on her skin. What if he didn't make it? She thought of this possibility. But as she knelt there sobbing, she felt a warm hand on her shoulder. She looked up and saw him, his green eyes looking into her tear-drenched brown ones and she smiled ever so brightly. He smiled back too, and he picked her up and pulled her into an embrace full of love and longing. She felt the universe reel. He felt the universe stop. All of her sadness was whisked away by him. All her desperation, gone. She was in bliss. Everything was quiet between the two of them; no words need be said. They looked into each other's eyes, and she took out her wand and whispered, "Oculus Reparo".

Life was finally iridescent.

A/N: Hi guys! What do you think? I know it's short but I just had to write it. And yes, the song is based on Linkin Park's Iridescent. :)
