It was a nice night; parties for the New Year were going on. In one mansion on a balcony was a slouched Inuyasha. He was looking down at all the little heads running about. He could hear the voices, music, laughter and running about inside the hotel. It was a nice party for the high class members. Of coarse Inuyasha was not really at the party, he was a waiter serving the guests. The 17 year old boy looked up at the sparkling black sky, the stars shone brightly.

Inside, looking out towards the balcony, hidden behind the balcony doors was Kagome Higurashi, a young girl, born of a rich nobleman. "Hello?" She called to him.

Inuyasha zipped around and saw 15 year old Kagome standing in the doorway. She wore a white silk shirt with a golden ribbon wrapped around her waist with a bow tied from behind, and a dark purple silky dress with a flower design on it. And on her feet she wore golden brown sandals with pink flowers on them. "Kagome?" Inuyasha said with a small smile.

"Hmm…" Kagome walked over to the end of the balcony where Inuyasha was and looked over. She saw all of the people down there, and then she looked over the sea and saw the soft wave's crash against the rocks along the shore line.

"You see that?" Inuyasha pointed over to the docks by the water.

Kagome looked, "Uh, uh-huh."

"That's where my father used to take me fishing. I was 7 at the time. Really loved it, caught- a lot, of, fish. Yeah…"

Kagome looked over at the head low Inuyasha. "Tell me about you're father?"

"Well, he was a fisherman. Ahh ha," Inuyasha sort of laughed.

"Hmm," Kagome smiled.

"Yeah, he led a good life here. Then, the war came, he left to go there. I was young, didn't understand why he had to go. The thing is, he never came back, never." Inuyasha said looking up at the stars.

"I am sorry," Kagome said as she lowered her head and looked to the floor.

"Yeah, a lot of people we're sorry…. But, it won't bring him back, change anything…" Inuyasha said.

There was a long silence for about a minute, then, "I am sorry, maybe I should go." Kagome said as she turned to leave.

"No, please-" Inuyasha turned to her and grabbed her arm gently. She turned back at him. "Stay with me… until, the end?" Inuyasha asked.

"Hmm." She nodded, "Okay."

She came back and looked up at the stars. "They're so beautiful." She stated.

"Yeah, I come here all the time, I love this spot." He said, looking up.

"Yeah," She agreed. Slowly and magically, they're hands came together. It took them a few seconds to realize that they we're holding each others hands. "Oh," Kagome began to blush just a bit.

Inuyasha looked down and smiled. Then he looked at Kagome, then into her eyes. Kagome then looked up at Inuyasha.

'Why is he looking at me like that?' She thought. Then she looked into his eyes and couldn't take off her gaze. Then they're faces we're slowly coming closer. They were so close, any further and they're lips would touch. They then paused for a second, then suddenly, BOOM!!! Fire works lifted off into the sky and burst into the air. Inuyasha and Kagome looked up surprisingly. They both laughed just a bit. The fireworks made a roaring crackling noise. You could hear the voices of people below cheering and clapping. They went off beautifully, it was a wonderful show. Kagome then looked down at her hand, it was still connected with Inuyasha's. She smiled then looked at Inuyasha, "Happy New Year Inuyasha." She said.

Inuyasha looked at her and answered, "Hmm, you to Kagome." Then they looked up once again. "Happy New Year." He said.
