Crap, Sakura thought, tears flowing down her pale, smooth cheeks.

"I hate you, I hate you, I hate you..." she muttered, gasping.

"Why?" Kabuto whispered, holding her tighter. He didn't want to let go. He stroked her pink hair and kissed the top of her head.

They sat there, in the rain, under a cherry blossom tree. Sakura was still crying, and Kabuto was still holding her.

"You didn't think it would last, did you?" he whispered bitterly, holding her even tighter, if it was possible. What he would give...

"I-- I guess I did," she hiccupped, sniffing into his toned chest, "I guess I thought nothing would change. I thought wrong."

"Things changed the minute we started talking each other." he stated simply. He could feel her nod. "It's okay, Sakura. Please, stop crying."

To her horror, she realized that he was crying to. Kabuto, the young man she fell head over heels for, the one who never showed any emotion.

"I can't. You're making it harder not too," she said, looking up at him with tear-filled eyes. He kissed her forehead, his onyx colored eyes never leaving her for a second. Sakura felt shivers run across her spine. A wave of fresh sobs escaped. Crap, crap, crap! she screamed in her mind. Kabuto cupped her chin. "Do you really hate me?" he asked quietly. He was pleading with her to say no. And Sakura didn't even have to lie.

"No, I don't hate you, Kabuto."

"Then why'd you say it?" he demanded. She thinks I have no feelings, he thought, but I do. And when she said she hated me, it felt like something twisted my heart.

"Because-- because--" she stammered.

"Sak--" he started, but was stopped. Her lips crashed into his. He kissed her back. Both were passionate, loving, and crying. He felt her soft lips on his as she shook from crying. He stroked her hair. Finally, they seperated, and didn't look each other in the eyes for a while.

And then he got up, and Sakura was silent for the first time in an hour. "Are you leaving now? To go with that scumbag pedo?" she yelled, demanding an answer.

"You know I have to."

"No, no you don't! I'll run away with you, I will! We can be together forever!" she begged.

"I thought you were smarter than that," he said gently, not barking. She gulped. He turned around and gave her one last kiss.

"Do you hate me?" he asked again. When she failed to answer, a tear escaped his eye. "Goodbye, Ru," he said sadly. He knew she winced at her nickname. The one he gave her.

He jumped off the cliff, and he stayed in the air. Sakura ran after him, to the edge of the cliff.

"No, I don't hate you, Kabuto-kun!" she yelled at the top of her lungs, "I love you!"

When he turned around with a shocked, joyous expression, she smiled at him, through her tears. He smiled back.

It stopped raining. Sakura felt empty inside. He was gone.

But atleast he knows how I feel, she reasoned, biting her lips.

She looked up and gasped. How'd he do it? she wondered in amazement. Is that possible, or was she dreaming?

Because underneath the rainbow that formed in the sky, the clouds spelled "I love you too."
