Not mine. Lots of other people's, but not mine.
Slight Spoilers for the nature of River and the Doctor's relationship and costuming decisions, Sweetie.
CELERY?!
He sure as hell hadn't included the celery in his briefing of his incarnations. She knew she should have asked for full length shots. Especially after the horror of the technicolour dream coat.
Nope, she wracked her brains, not one mention of a decorative vegetable. Yes, the blonde, boyish good looks, even the cricket bat, but the CELERY?! And yet, some how, he was kind of pulling it off.
She smiled at her own hopelessness. No. No way will I ever be in love with him enough to find that particular lapel adornment attractive she decided. Glad this is a Doctor before her time. Positively made the Fez seem like the height of fashion sophistication. She couldn't wait to tease him about this later.
He ran past her hiding place, eyes trained in front of him, dragging his companion behind. Stuck mid-mission as she was, she passed the time remembering his long list of rules of time travel and The Doctor had been clear.
"River, now listen to me, you're bound to run into younger mes, it's inevitable with all the jumping around history we do- also, I know how curious you can be. And how attractive some of mes are." A smug quirk of the bow tie before refocusing. "But River, I don't meet you until my Tenth. And it isn't by accident. So just, stay away. If and when you see me River, stay away. "
"Oooh, attractive you say? How attractive?"
"River, I'm serious."
"Fine fine, window shopping only, I get it...Doctor-have you...did you...do you...have you seen younger mes? Do you find me? Watch me?"
His silence had spoken louder than words.
She laughed aloud at the memory, before ducking out of sight again as red pinstripes raced back past yelling warnings to the trail of people now following him back to the TARDIS.
But seriously? Celery!?
