Chase lifted me up and cradled me in his arms as he spun me around. I put my hand on his cheek, feeling his soft curls under my fingers. My mouth was set in a wide grin, and he was smiling back at me like he always does. He's my best friend, and I've never been closer to anyone. He sets my feet back on the ground and grabs my hand, and dancing with him is so much better than any time I've danced before. I throw my head back and laugh. Being pressed up against him and held by him is what I think love is supposed to feel like.

We run up the stairs, and he tries to tickle my sides. I turn to chase him and he runs back into the grass. As usual, Chase trips and rolls onto the grass. Instead of getting up, he lays on his back and pats the ground next to him. Not knowing how many chances I'll get to lay next to him, I plop down on the grass beside him and turn on my side to face him. He is not the most conventionally attractive guy, but everything about him just fits. And that crooked smile of his is to die for. Making Chase smile makes me smile. I never knew I needed something like this until he ran into that stupid flag pole three years ago.

"Why are you staring at me, Zo?" Embarrassed at being caught, I roll onto my back. "I don't know. What's up there that's so interesting, Chase?" He faces the sky again. Taking a deep breath, I can feel the moonlight beaming down on us, like it's there for just the two of us.

"Well, the stars are the world of dreams. All our daydreams and nightmares and wishes fly up there to take refuge among the stars. That way, they'll never be alone. I'm just looking for someone's dream. Maybe I can make it come true." Chase sounded so passionate. That's what I love so much about him. He cares so much about the people he loves; he would walk the earth for them.

I can't take it. "Chase…" I whisper. He turns toward me. I reach over and place my lips on his, feeling his shock. After a moment, he kisses me back, cradling my cheek with his hand.

"What… Zo…." Chase stared at me, not knowing what to do next.

I lay back down on the grass and take his hand. "You made my dream come true."
