Her hair was star light, leaving trails of stars in her path. Her eyes were chips of sapphire, so intense and deep you could see whole galaxies within them. But most are ignorant of her otherworldly attributes. Simple and dull words like "beautiful" and "pretty" could not even begin to describe her. In all honesty, she was trapped by this creature before her. She found that she could not take her own eyes off of the girl.

"What are you staring at?" she was so entranced by her whimsical voice from the heavens.

"I'm sorry Miss Belarus, please excuse me."

Her skin was creamy like the Milky Way. Her limbs stretched as long as the universe, each inch of it perfect. She had memorized every dip and every curve with her eyes… Then her fingers…. Then eventually her mouth.

One lazy late morning, entangled in cool sheets , skin pressed against skin. Messy yet wonderful.

"You've always stared at me so intensely… I'd like to know what you see and what you find so interesting," she asks, fingers weaving in her short hair.

"I see… Well… Well, I see you. Isn't that reason enough to stare. She gazed as her face flushed with a delicious crimson paint. She could not say out loud what she actually saw, it was near impossible, and embarrassing beyond belief. She saw another world in her. She saw everything she loved and everything she will continue to love for centuries.

She can see their white breaths hanging in the air. Their interlacing fingers sharing warmth. Her sparkling smile might have reduced her to dust. Her soft lips, long eyelashes, slender nose. Her heart wells up whenever she sees her, whenever she remembers.

Even her assumingly "imperfect" imperfections were enough to bring her to tears. Those quirks were the things she remembers the most. The things that only she herself was privileged to witness and know about. The way she snorted when she laughed a little too much. The way chinks of her hair ended up in her mouth when she fell asleep. The terribly funny face she pulled when she tried not to cry at a sad cheesy movie ending. The way she bit her tongue when she was concentrated.

"This is the shit I remember…" she chuckled hollowly to herself. But she knows she wouldn't want it any other way. Her most favorite memories were of them together, doing nothing special, even if they were bored out of their minds. Because she could have been anywhere else but with her. But they chose each other and they would rather be together than anything. She never regrets choosing to be with her, or meeting her. She wouldn't take back all those decades together, even if it meant an end to all this pain she felt right now. Somewhere deep in her heart she knew the pain would never really go away.

"You are worth all these tears, Bela."

And she hates referring to her as just a memory, because. Because she was so much more. Sometimes she wondered if she was even human.

On chilled nights like this one, with the holidays nearing, she wished Bela could have left a tombstone behind. That way she had a place to visit at least.

But when she looked up at the stars, she was certain that Bela must be up there somewhere, sitting wonderfully on some constellation or another.

"Oh Liechten, my Liechten…." If only Liechten knew that she saw the world's beauty in her; through her green forest eyes and her sun dipped hair and her small sea breeze smile. She made her human again.

I'm glad I met you in this life.
