"Geez, Zuko! You got us lost!" Katara shouted, walking over twigs, and stepping harshly on leaves. The crunching of fall leaves, and the regular atmospheric winds were approaching. All Katara had on was her Water Tribe outfit, and a small green blanket she had found while trying to escape the guards that are still on persuit for them.

"I didn't get us lost! I just.. can't remember where North is!" Zuko exclaimed, his eyes narrowing towards the woman in front of him. Who stopped, and he bumped into her back. He hit her back hard, making her jump forward a bit before swinging her body right around.

"Hey! Watch it!"

"You don't just suddenly stop!"

Katara turned, her hair flipping. It was getting dark, and there was no shelter in sight. Zuko could hear the chattering of Katara's teeth, and stopped. This made Katara stop as well, she couldn't hear his feet shuffling about on the earth below him.

"What?"

"You're cold, let's stop. We're not gonna' be able to see in about an hour anyways, the woods will get us even more lost." Zuko explained, hoping she would at least compromise on the situation. He, too, was feeling the wrath of the season.

"..fine." Katara looked around, looking up into the air to find a big tree, but all of the leaves have fallen. Just luck. Katara moved to her right, plopping herself down on the ground, she pushed her knees to her chest, and wrapped the green blanket around her shoulders.

Zuko walked past her, sitting directly behind her. The only thing between them was a small, thick brown branch, looking up, Zuko noticed the chipped piece of the remaining branch of the tree. The wind must have blown it down.

After twenty minutes passed, the area around them was a blue and black conglomeration. Katara barely made out the stars from above, when she tilted her head back she felt Zuko's. Though, she continued looking up.

"Dang.. It's cold." Katara whispered, rubbing her numbing hands along her upper arms, hoping to create friction.

Zuko was holding a flame of fire in his hands, holding it close to his chest, his face igniting by the flickers. "It's warm over here."

Katara turned, making it so her hand was holding her up. It was probably 40 degrees out, and having nothing but thin sheets of cloth on. Zuko turned his head, looking at Katara. She was staring into the pit of yellow, and orange. Zuko was blown away.

She was marvelous.

"Uhh-here," He scooted towards the left, making it til his back hit the trunk of the tree. He patted his left leg, wanting Katara to follow.

She was thrown off, but caught on soon enough. She huffed, crawling over to Zuko, she moved herself next to his right arm, being wedge between a fallen tree, and the one Zuko had his back against.

Sitting herself neatly against him, she squeezed together with him, brushing past his skin. She sucked in a gasp of air.

"What?"

"You're.. You're really warm." She hesitantly touched his arm, her freezing hands making even Zuko shiver slightly. He held a delicate smile towards her, and this was the first time she got butterflies from Zuko.

Katara wrapped her arms around him, pressed her head onto his shoulder, he opened his palm and made fire ignite from that hand as well. Keeping both him warm, and Katara.

They stayed like that for what seemed like hours. Katara would wiggle around somewhat, or Zuko would tuck his legs under each other. It was probably around 2 AM when Katara started to doze off.

"Hey Zuko.."

"Yeah?"

"Thank you." With that last response, she faded into a cozy, and sheltered sleep. Zuko chuckled, grinning cheekly.

"You're welcome, Katara."
