Unsilenced Love
Summary: Alex's reaction when she finds out about what happened at the train station in "Fault". AO.Spoilers: "Fault" (omfg, that is a whole different issue…), "Stalked" (I think that's what it's called), slight "Loss"/"Ghost"
She imaged her under the slanting shadows of the last sun, feral and primitive. She did not want to. She wanted to get that image out of her head. She could not though. That same image haunted her mind.
She had not even been there. Her knowledge of what actually happened that day was limited. All she had was her overactive imagination. Funny, how worry does that to a person. She heard the witness accounts, and she heard of what Fin and Elliot saw. While she could respect that, she had to see Olivia. She just had to.
She would not be able to rest easily until she knew for a fact that Olivia was safe. It was not enough just to have people tell her it. She had to see it with her own eyes. She could not get that haunting image of Olivia lying there on the ground out of her mind. Those could have been the last moments of Olivia's life.
That fact still had not sunk in completely. She knew that work in the police department was not always the safest line of work. Sure, Olivia had been the target of perps before. One even stalked her and tried to kill her. However, he never actually touched her. This one did.
His knife cut her neck. Hard. A couple more centimeters and Olivia would have died almost instantly. Centimeters. That was not a lot. The width of two, maybe three, fingers. That much more and Olivia would not be alive right now.
Alex shuddered. She had to see Olivia. She did not have to talk to her. She knew how busy Olivia was. This case was insane. So much had already happened. She could not distract her. She just had to see for herself in person that Olivia was going to survive.
For the first time, Alex fully understood the emotions Olivia experienced when Liam Connors first shot her. Her love no longer spoke quietly.
