Wilson was staying with House again. He didn't mind, Wilson picked up after him and he secretly enjoyed the company. Wilson had gone to bed hours ago while House stayed up reading, trying to ignore the never ending pain in his leg. He got up and limped without his cane to the kitchen for some water, he tried not to disturb his buddy in the process. He had filled his cup and was putting it to his lips when out of the silence came a gasp as Wilson sat bolt upright on the couch. The noise had startled House causing him to drop his cup which landed with a clank on the ground. It was plastic, so it didn't break but it drenched House's shirt on its way to the kitchen floor.

He directed his attention to Wilson. He was still gasping and held a hand to his chest. House quickly striped off his t-shirt and rushed over to his friend.

'Wilson what is it?'

'Can't breathe, chest tight.'

House quickly checked him over and diagnosed a panic attack, probably set off by his stressful life and possibly a stressful dream. House knelt down in front of Wilson and looked him square in the eyes.

'You are having a panic attack. Look at me and we will get this under control.'

Wilson nodded but continued to panic. House knew that if he didn't get his friend to breathe regularly soon he would pass out. He did the only thing he could think of. He sat next to Wilson on the couch and wrapped him up in a hug. He rested his chin on Wilson's head so Wilson's ear was pressed against House's chest.

'Breathe with me or else you will pass out. Got it?'

He felt Wilson nod on his chest. He just held him there trying to keep his breathing steady so his friend would start to breathe normally again. He felt him relax and breathe easy after several minutes of just sitting still together. It wasn't until Wilson started talking did House loosen his grip on his friend.

'Thanks, I'm glad you came out when you did.'

'What brought that on?'

'A dream.'

'About what?'

'I lost you from my life forever.'

'I'd sure panic if I lost you too.'

Wilson smiled and tears formed but House didn't see them. He had gotten up and was on his way back to his room to cover for the tears that were forming in his eyes as well. Sometimes words hit just right, especially if they're coming from the most important person in your life.
