My husband is the greatest man of this era. We married in the temple of Mara in Riften, like all couples do. I couldn't believe it, me, married to the dragonborn. Does that mean I would bear the next dragonborn if we were to ever have children? It didn't matter. I was, and still am, in love. He has changed a lot since we got married, though.

He used to be so kind. He only cared about the well being of others, myself included. But, well, we fell into hard times shortly after we got married. The amulet of Mara cost him a pretty septim, and he had to buy me a mammoth tusk, which aren't cheap, to get my approval.

He decided to go into mercenary work. Nothing major, just cleaning out some popular bandit hideouts and carrying out a few bounties. Almost everything was backed by the Jarl though.

Lydia was his follower and my friend. She and I meet shortly after we engaged. When he went back to Riften to set up the wedding, he told her to stay behind. She and I got to know each other and we became good friends. She even came to our wedding.

One day they headed out. He said he had heard a rumor of a boy who needed some help; said it might pay well. While he was in the other room, gathering some things, Lydia looked distressed.

"Is something wrong?" I asked.

"I don't have a good feeling about this." Lydia replied.

"Why?"

"It's just….it doesn't add up." She said.

"Oh." I said. At that moment he walked out.

"Are you ready, Lydia?" He asked.

"Yes, my Thane." She replied. He walked over to me.

"I'll be back soon." He said.

"I know you will, my love." I said. He nodded towards me and walked out the door. Lydia waved goodbye and they were gone.

I didn't hear from them for 3 days. It was nerve wracking. They had never been gone for so long. I continued to work at the fruit stand, but my mind was never on the work.

I was at home, reading a book after a long day of work, when I heard a pounding at the door. I got up as fast as I could; my husband was finally home! I answered the door, but it was not my husband. It was Lydia, looking out of breath and tired.

"Wh-what happened?" I asked, in a very worried tone.

"He….The dragonborn…..He's gone!"

A/N

Ok, so I'm finally writing a Skyrim fanfic! I'm a girl, but my character on my second account is a male, so that's where the inspiration came from. His wife is Yslonda from Whiterun. I will get the next chapter out soon. Please review! Bye!
