Another one-shot about Gabriel and baby Adrien- I can't help it, I love the idea of a happy family. Even if it was so long ago.

Gabriel Agreste- famous international designer- man of much respect- known to haunt competitors in their nightmares- practically dashed into the nursery.

A hundred bright colors caught his eyes- this bright blue wall covered with far too many rainbows and that neon star that shone even in daylight- but Gabriel's attention was dead set on the crib.

And even before Gabriel saw him, the man was greeted by a baby coos. And upon gaining a few feet, his eyes were blessed with just the sight of a golden mop of fluffy hair peeping out. And in record time, Gabriel was peering into the little crib that held the most beautiful baby he had ever seen in his entire life.

Gabriel broke into a grin that the reporters would have loved to get a glimpse of- but that was reserved only for his family- and at that moment, his son.

The designed leaned over, and was somewhat forced by his instincts to greet his son in a high pitched voice, "Adwien! How'z my perfect shon doing today?"

And an even higher baby squeal greeted his ears. But Gabriel was mesmerized with watching his little son looking around for his voice- but the baby was on his knees and couldn't quite manage to stand on his own as yet. But his head did turn wildly until finally, the infant managed to push himself up to a sitting position. And then he shot his head up to give his father a gummy smile.

Bright green eyes that were far too pure for this world looked up.

Gabriel put his hands to the side of the crib, and leaned even closer to his baby, "Hey Adrien,"

The baby bounced in his seat, and Gabriel chuckled when the infant reached up his hands for him. But only when the baby squealed at him once more, did Gabriel reach down to his son.

Hands on the child's waist, and soon Gabriel was holding his son in his arms. Adrien was balancing his head but Gabriel still stationed his support with a hand behind his neck.

Eager to be with his father and not hesitating to baby blabber his excitement, and it showed in his eyes. And Gabriel listened with rapt attention. It was the best part of his day- coming home from his business to be with his family.

Gabriel's head snapped up, and he asked aloud, "Where's Emilie?"

The man turned around, and as he looked around the nursery, he found nothing of his wife's presence- except the hundreds of pictures of the three of them on a wall. There were even some with Nathalie and Gorilla, but Gabriel found himself drawn to his son even more.

And as though to emphasize Gabriel's attention, Adrien brought up sticky hands to swat at his father's nose. Gabriel faced him, but brought his face closer to the baby so their noses were touching. And this only broadened the little smile of the infant.

And in that little moment, peering into those pure eyes, watching the gummy smile that was all for Gabriel, the man kept that grin on his face. Reporters be damned, he couldn't ever frown around his baby- Adrien made that impossible.

And even as Adrien cooed at his father, and attacked the nose with his mouth, Gabriel only laughed and allowed him to. Because there wasn't a single thing Gabriel wouldn't do for his son. And just because Emilie wasn't temporarily there, didn't mean that he would neglect his fatherly duties… did it?

Gabriel's smile faded just a bit, but the child brought it back when he pushed at his father's face and complain in his baby talk. Gabriel shook his head, and watched his son try to follow his nose with his chubby fingers- but soon he let him grab it again- just to see that glorious baby smile. That beautiful, beautiful baby smile.
