AN: Sorry if this is kind of disconnected and jerky, I was really upset when I wrote it. By my timeline Han and Leia married about a year after Endor.
Disclaimer: I don't own Han and Leia...if I did the EU would be very different.

It had started simply, a disagreement over something long forgotten, but it had escalated far more quickly than any fight they'd ever had. And it had scared her.
But the thing that had scared her the most was Han's last words, "Fine! If you want me to leave, I will!"
She looked over at him where he still stood, but facing the window now. His posture was not relaxed, not at all, he was still tensed, waiting for her to explode again.
Leia didn't want to explode again, she wished she could go back, undo everything. This was destroying them. This stupid prince who clearly hadn't gotten the memo that she was already married had set off the bomb that started it all. Then it had been offers of this job or that job for both of them. Things that would constantly be pulling them apart. And there was always the people complaining about how Han wasn't good enough for her. It all caused tempers to run high, and Leia's short fuse had finally run out.
They'd been married for almost five years and had been debating-because that's the only logical thing to call it with them-having children. That, of course, had been before everything started.
She glanced out the window, expecting to see rain pitter-pattering against it, but instead she saw one of the nicest days they'd had in a while.
"Han?" she whispered. He didn't move, didn't show if he'd even heard her.
"Han?" she said a little more loudly. No movement, no response.
She stood on shaky legs and walked towards him. Still no movement, still no response.
She dropped to her knees in front of him, too exhausted to stand anymore.
"Han?" she whispered again. He looked down at her, finally.
"Han," she was crying again. "I don't want it to end," she cried. "I don't want to you to leave…please…
she begged.
He knelt beside her, pulling her into his lap, stroking her hair, but he still didn't speak.
She curled herself into a ball, letting him hold her, comfort her.
He waited until she had cried all she could, then he picked her up and carried her to bed. He tucked her in and sat beside her, looking into her eyes.
"Leia, I would never leave you," he whispered. "No one, not even you could make me." He kissed her forehead and lay down beside her, holding her to him, murmuring words of love into her hair as sleep finally claimed them.
