Hey Guys,

fairieimp is back with an all new short story.

It was written for Ficathon 2007.

Enjoy!

DISCLAIMER: Sailor Moon does not belong to me. The ring however, does belong to me in real-life.

They arrived at the mall shortly after opening, so they would be assured some time to shop without long lines and crowded stores.

They bought outfits with matching shoes and accessories.

After several shoe stores and many paper bags filled with clothes, the pair found themselves in the most prestigious jewelry store in the whole town.

"What do you think of this one?" He asked his female companion.

"It's too gaudy," she replied.

He took a second look at it, "I guess you're right." He handed it back to the now frustrated store clerk.

"What do you think of this one?" The clerk handed him a similar setting.

He looked at it a minute, and weighed it in his palm, "It's too heavy." He handed it back to the clerk.

"I think this is the prettiest one," she pointed through the glass at a premounted sapphire and diamond claddagh about three cases down. She shot him a you've-got-to-see-this look.

He walked over and then nodded in affirmation, "Can I see that one?"

"Of course," the clerk said in a hurried tone, "this one seems to get over looked. I think it is our most unique setting. It is the only one in the store, and since it doesn't sell, it will probably be the only one made here."

As soon as his fingers touched the ring, he felt a familiar surge of energy pulsate in his hand. He looked at companion with startled eyes; she only smiled one of her i-told-you-so smiles.

"I'll take this one," he told the clerk without bothering to look at the price tag.

"Don't you want to know how much it costs?" The clerk asked him.

He shrugged, "Can you put a price on the perfect ring?"

"We should do this more often," he said to his companion.

"Yes, definitely, Zoisite; you're so much better at it than Kunz," she affirmed, causing a huge grin on his face.

"I'm glad that I could be of service to the ever-so-famous Aino Minako," green eyes twinkled. "You know I was gay in a former life."

The pair giggled as they sipped on their steaming lattes, watching the snow fall in the street.

"Ami's going to kill me for this ring, but I hope she's not too disappointed."

"I think she'll love it, but you know she won't be too keen if she figures out how much you spent on it."

"Yeah, I know," he replied. He mentally tried to figure out how much damage he and the actress had done today in the mall, and it wasn't looking like a pretty figure. He took a long sip of his latte.

Minako smiled as she looked out at the swirling snow, "It's beautiful out there. I'm sure Ami's outside enjoying her element."

Zoisite smiled as he pictured his Ice Goddess making snow angels and throwing snow balls at Rei and Makoto, "It is beautiful."

They both took another sip of coffee.

"Come on, lover boy," Minako abruptly stood up and winked at him, "let's go find some more shoes!"

He laughed as he grabbed their bags and followed her off into the other side of the mall.

So there you have it.

Hope you enjoyed!

Constructive criticism encouraged.
