Harry and his friends were ushered briskly into the great Hall. All the first years were talking and whispering excitedly about the upcoming year. Most of the girls were ecstatic about being in the presence of such a young legend, whispering and giggling about marrying him in the future.
After they had all been sorted into their houses and were seated comfortably next to friends on the benches, the feast began. The food was absolutely marvelous, though the first year gossipers would have rather spent their evening meal next to the famous and oh-so handsome Harry Potter. About halfway into the meal, Dumbledore stood up to say a few words. He tapped his fork on a wine glass for silence and attention and said,
"Let the feast begin!"
The plates refilled and the first years soon realized that the food they just ate was just the appetizer, like a warm-up. The actual feast was twice as marvelous and the upset first year ladies decided they would ambush the stunning Potter, later, perhaps after supper. Once again, Dumbledore stood up to say a few words after tapping his glass. He walked up to the steps leading up to where the teachers sat for meals. He opened his mouth to speak, and it came out in bellows,
"I would like to welcome all the first years to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. If you take a look under each of your chairs, you will see that I have planted a pound of C4." He pressed the button.
And Hogwarts exploded.
