I hold my mug to my chest warm and tight

Sat staring out the window to a Christmas night

Then affter a long hard stare I took a short tasty sip

As hot chocolate and marshmallows touched my lip

I thought about a warm winter glow

On a young child face after touching the snow

Then when you wrap up in a old woollen hat

Passed down years large and battered like a mat

My heart becomes frozen as I step inside

Feeling like an igloo but it is to cold to hide

Then as I hear footsteps coming towards me

And someone whose arms for a hug is all I see

My mum was there holding my hand

And now I felt in a winter wonderland

I opened my presents with a smile

Then a dinner forgetting it will be over in a while...
