A/N: So I know it's really really short. Really short. But it was just this little blurb that came to me while I was watching the movie a day or so ago--for the millionth time. My friend stayed over and begged me to watch it with her at two in the morning. Lovely. Anyway, there isn't really a POV. It would be set around the party when Alicia goes after Chase (while Nicole is talking with Brad). And it's based on the convo Chase and Nicole have during the car ride after the basketball game. It's my first Drive Me Crazy fic... Please R&R. -Mac

Disclaimer: I don't own Drive Me Crazy.

Masterpiece

When boys compete it's about who is the strongest, who's the most manly. It's all out in the open. In fact they make a show of it. They want everyone to know that they are battling each other. Especially, they want everyone to know they are the best once they've won.

When girls compete it's subtle, under the radar. Half the time you won't even know it's happening, you don't even know what hit you when you realize it. Girls plan, they plan every little detail to the tee. They plot and they scheme and they manipulate. You would never believe that these polished, curled locks and lip gloss girls could be conniving, malicious, and destructive.

But that's all part of their charm. They fool everyone on the outside, while inwardly they are piecing together a plan to tear you apart limb from limb (metaphorically of course). And yet they have no shame. They will stop at nothing to get what they want--what they think they want. Because it's still never good enough in the end, right?

You could be their best friend, but stand in the way and you'll get stabbed in the back. Because nothing brings more satisfaction to the girl standing behind you twisting it in. See, at least with guys they stab you in the front. You can see it coming. With girls you never know who they're after. Betrayal comes in many kinds of doses--invisible, monumental--and girls dish it out left and right.

But no one could stand up to Alicia DeGasario. She took betrayal and manipulation to a whole new lever. When she set her sights on something, she didn't rest until she had it. It was too bad that she always chose what her friends wanted, but you must guess that fostered true competition.

Alicia was an expert with personal attacks. She could switch her tactics at the drop of a hat. But she always found a way to hurt the people she was trying to beat--because winning wasn't enough. She made it personal. She wanted to win and guarantee that those who had lost never try again. Even if it meant taking down her best friend. Because if she couldn't have what she wanted, then no one could.

But Nicole had said it herself, competition amongst girls was art. Alicia was an artist. And the whole Brad-Nicole-Chase triangle was going to be her masterpiece.
