A/N: Starting yet another series, this time focusing on the wonderful, yet oh so tragic, pairing of Laguna and Raine. These two are like my OTP of OTP's so it's about time I start writing stuff about them, hah. I have a few ideas so far for more chapters but I can always use more! Anything with these two that you want to see, tell me and I'll see what I can do! (And yes, this chapter tells the story of her earrings!)

The title comes from The Doors song, 'Touch Me', in which the refrain always seemed appropriate for these two to me.

Now, I'm gonna love you
Till the heavens stop the rain
I'm gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky for you and I

Laguna followed Raine into the kitchen nervously, a cramp steadily climbing up his leg for the first time in a long while. It was too late to turn back now, Raine was already nearly into the kitchen and there was no way she couldn't notice the box sitting in plain view on the counter.

Dawdling in the doorway he watched as she found it, ducking his head away when she sent him a curious glance. He wished he could just melt into the floor right now, why had he done this? Screw him and his stupid spur of the moment decisions. Fingers fiddled nervously with his pockets, eyes still looking anywhere but Raine. Surely at any moment she'd be yelling at him, right? After all, how moronic was this…they'd only been dating a few weeks, surely this was too over the top, too forward, too…everything. He likely just scared her off for good.

He flinched when he felt a soft hand lay against his arm, eyes lifting up to meet with Raine's beautiful blue grey ones. Mouth opened but no words could slip past the lump in his throat as he rubbed the back of his neck while shuffling backwards awkwardly.

"I…uh…" he stuttered uselessly as he glanced down to see the opened box in her hands. She didn't seem mad, or off put…but still.

"Look Raine, I'm sorry. I know that this was stupid, and pointless. I mean you don't even really wear jewelry much and I honest to Hyne didn't mean anything by it! Well I did…but not like that! I know we're not really serious and all but I saw them in the store and I just…the way they sparkled and glistened, they reminded me of the stars you love so much, reminded me of you…and next thing I know I bought them! Which I know was dumb and thoughtless of me…I mean I didn't even ask you or nothing and if you wanna yell…or even leave, well…I won't blame you…"

His voice trailed off when Raine placed a finger gently against his lips. "Are you done yet?" she quipped, a slightly exasperated look in her eyes though a soft smile played at her mouth. "Relax Laguna," she said, eyes shifting to a more serious light as she gazed up at him. "I love them."

"Y-you do?" he whispered, his heart soaring.

"Of course. Why wouldn't I? Especially since they're from you." Seriously, only Laguna could get all worked up over something like this.

"Guess it was kinda idiotic of me, huh? he said, hand sheepishly rubbing at his neck again. "Sorry I acted a bit stupid there…"

Mouth settled into a smile as he looked back down at the box again, reaching a hand out. "May I?" he asked quietly, gazing softly at her.

A smile and a nod were his answer as she slipped her hair back to expose her ears. Carefully, cradling each one like they were made of the most delicate glass, Laguna inserted the earrings in, hand caressing her cheek as he stepped back to assess her.

'Well?" she questioned with an eyebrow raised when he stayed silent. "How do they look?"

"Perfect…" he breathed out, eyes fixated on her.

With a slightly embarrassed smile Raine softly fingered one of them. "They are very nice, aren't they?"

Laguna blinked, confused for a moment. "No, not the earrings…I meant you, you're perfect."
