Meredith smiled as she and Derek cleaned up after dinner. Lexie had taken Zola out after dinner for a little playtime in the park and they were enjoying a little time to themselves. Meredith sighed as she sat down on the couch and picked up a magazine.

"Tired love?" Derek asked

"You had it easy today" Meredith replied "10 hour surgery is nothing compared to chasing Zola around"

"Well, lucky for us we both have tomorrow off so baring any emergencies you can sleep and I can chase her around"

Meredith smiled as she kissed Derek and cuddled into his side. They were startled by the door bell ringing and smiled as a very nervous Mark sat down in front of them. Meredith turned away to stifle a laugh.

"What do you need Mark" Derek asked

"I love Lexie" Mark replied

"OK. We knew that"

"I mean it Derek I love her. I love her more than anyone I have ever been with. I want to marry her"

"What?" Meredith asked

"I want to marry your sister. I want to do the whole white wedding thing and have kids and wake up next to her for the rest of my life"

"We you are an adult, so why are we talking about this?"

"Because you two are her family and I want your blessing"

"Mark, if my sister wants to marry you, you have our blessing. But you have to be serious about this"

"Hurt her and we will both kick your ass six ways until Sunday. And Meredith with probably kill you very slowly with many, many scalpels"

They all chuckled and looked up as Lexie walked in with a sleeping looking Zola in her arms. She looked around the room slightly confused before handing Zola to Meredith.

"Hey Mark. I thought you had a late surgery tonight?" Lexie asked softly

"I lied" Mark replied "I needed to talk to Derek and Meredith and you"

"Ok"

"Meredith, why don't we take Zola up and put her to bed?" Derek said

He gently took Zola from Lexie and pulled Meredith out of the room. Mark waited until he heard a door close before smiling at Lexie.

"So what did you need to talk about?" Lexie asked

"I had a question for you" Mark replied "Let's sit on the couch"

"Ok. We're sitting. Spit it out"

"I love you. I love you more than anything in the world. Your smart, beautiful, a great surgeon, wonderful with kids. You are perfect. I want to spend the rest of my life with you"

"Mark…"

"Let me finish. Lexie. Marry me. Please"

"Mark…"

"You probably need time to think. That's fine"

"Mark…"

"Take all the time you need. You can even keep the ring until you decide"

"Shut up"

"What?"

"If you would shut up long enough to hear me speak you would hear me say yes"

"Yes?"

"Yes"

Mark smiled as he slipped the ring on her finger and kissed her soundly.
