Hi, people! I'm Kato! This is my first Harry Potter fanfic, but not my VERY first fic. I've written Homestuck fics before and I'm currently working on a Maximum Ride fic. I hope you guys enjoy this.
WARNING: This is only a one-shot. I can't expand on it to make it a full-length story.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Harry Potter. If I did, the series wouldn't be as good.
Famous Last Words
He never thought it would be like this. Here, in a tower surrounded by Death Eaters. In front of a window, Draco in front of him. It wasn't supposed to end this way.
It was supposed to be just him and Severus. They were supposed to be alone in the headmaster's office. It wasn't supposed to be dramatic, no final hurrah. He was supposed to go quietly.
Draco has started to yell at him. He wasn't paying much attention, though he said, "Draco, Draco, you are not a killer."
He looked at Severus while continuing his conversation with Draco. Severus had just entered the room using the stairs. He gave him a slight nod. The potions teacher just barely concealed his surprise.
It was time.
He looked around the room he was in. When he went to Hogwarts, this was one of his favorite places to go. Ironic that he would die here.
He looked at the stairs and saw hidden green eyes. He never wanted Harry to see what was to come. No matter, what was about to happen was inevitable.
He closed his eyes. He thought about his poor mother, his too-young-to-die sister, his jealous but loving brother, his imprisoned father. James the troublemaker, Lily the calm, both of which didn't deserve their fate. Peter, who behind his loyalty to Voldemort and betrayal of the Potters, was a good man. Severus the cold teacher. Severus the loving, carefree boy. The Boy Who Lived.
He could see the scene quite clearly. Hagrid coming in on the motorcycle, almost crashing. Minerva even before that, the terrible news. Then finding out that Harry was alive. The everlasting scar.
The scene became a slide show of his life. The funeral where his nose was broken. The fight between him and Grindelwad. Becoming a teacher and meeting Tom Riddle. Becoming headmaster. James and Lily and Sirius. Placing Harry on the doorstep. Every moment that ever mattered to him was there.
He was ready. He would welcome Death like the youngest of the three brothers. He wouldn't fight it. He would die sooner or later. He would prefer later, so he could say goodbye. But he wouldn't fight it now.
"Severus, please." He prepared himself. What does dying feel like? He would finally know.
"Avada Kedavra!" The answer was that dying was quick and painless. Almost a floating feeling.
Thank you, Severus. Stay strong Harry.
With those final thoughts, he gave himself up to Death. But Death was different than he thought, though.
For he was at King's Cross Station.
I'm sorry if it was too short or too sucky. Anyway, read and review! If you liked/loved it, review! If you hated it, review! If you couldn't even stand to finish it, review! If you want me to write more Harry Potter fics, review!
Bye!
