The teacher passed out the little booklets. The students then groaned after reading the title. They already read this in their grammar and reading class. Why again after a few years? Torture?

Cole was probably the only one not disdained. He loved this play, albeit it's ultimate message. Romeo and Juliet. He often watched the sixties movie, drooling over Tylbalt and Romeo the most. He wanted a Romeo more.

Even though he worked out, and was built like a brick house, he was feminine at heart. That was more kept down, seeing as he was in a weight-training course. It was a bit of a tough spot to admit that among a bunch of upperclassman.

The drama teacher knew that the majority of these kids took this with not much other choice as far as scheduling. Not like she minded, though. She still had to teach.

Now for parts... It was a tight spot because there were only male students, which had never happened, but she thought that that would be much more interesting. So she scanned the room, "Alright, Mercutio?"

A brunet shot his hand right up into the air.

She nodded to him, "Yes Jay, you will be perfect for that part." The woman knew these parts by heart, so she practically sang, "Benvolio?"

A quieter boy brought his free hand up. The boy was not so secretly holding his ginger boyfriend's hand. But once teacher figured that out she thought it was too cute.

The instructor nodded to the back of the room, " Yes Bradley, I think that'll work out." After she made sure the boy's were looking over the parts. "How about a Tybalt?"

The nerd next to Brad waved a hand. Gene had to be the bad guy, naturally.

The other parts were given, until finally the top parts in the entire play were to be figured. Only two parts left. "Romeo?"

The male next to Cole smiled and raised an arm to claim it. Oh no, that meant-

"And Cole as Juliet." Was it that easy? Even the guys playing the smaller part girls laughed at him.

He blushed slightly in embarrassment. That wasn't fair, "But Miss Gossip-"

"Boys," she wasn't impressed with the laughter towards a fellow student in that manner. Then she fixes her hair slightly, "Yes Juliet?"

Cole gave up, "Nothing, just... Is this a school play, too?"

"I think for the sake of this special situation, I don't think so." What a relief. Sort of.

The lines weren't read too terribly, but he was dreading his parts. With Zane's. They'd get all mushy, and it would look like they were dating. Well, that wouldn't be so bad...

He finally began talking to Zane- or Romeo. How weird. Maybe he should get more in character...

"What a stunning display!" It wasn't even required, and Zane and Cole had stood up in the end. Their teacher praised them as they got up from "dying" on the floor. Getting to their chairs, the bell rang for the end of the day.

They looked at each other, then Zane did something Cole wasn't expecting, "I work at a family theatre. Would you like to watch a show, then go on a date with me afterwards?"

"Yes," the dark-haired teen barely out thought into it.

The last teens to pass them were Gene and Brad. Cole stopped them with his words, "Wasn't that fun? But maybe you two should have gotten the lead role. Pretty romantic right?"

Gene rolled his eyes, then looked Cole over like he was an idiot, "Romeo and Juliet is about a seventeen and fourteen-year-old who cause six deaths, ultimately killing themselves anyways. It's not a romance, it's an unneeded tragedy." The two continued out, Brad being nice to Gene continuously for being so clever.

Who were they kidding, they would be a wreck without one another. Cole wondered if he would ever get a chance like that with Zane...
