It was a day or two
When the haunting night skies blew
Through the open creaking door
Up and down the long corridor
Into the dark daring room
A slightly chipped full moon
Hung just outside the window.
In the drenched bed
Even the tiniest thread
Had a touch of mahogany red
To it.
A sword lay by
Next to a stale piece o' bread of rye
Spiders crawled on the walls in the dark…
A demon hound that would howl and bark
Near the weeping willow tree site
It would scratch, it would bite
If you DARE go near it.
The fresh smell of flesh
Through the rusting mesh
Of the gate fence
Can be tracked for miles and miles.
A blond haired blue-eyed boy
Who was never once coy
His peach dipped eyes
Foreshadowed by failing sunrise
Will never open up to see the beauty of the world
Ever again…
He lay there
In the bed where
Those who loved him have abandoned him.
The dressed-up fancy
Alois Trancy.
