A/N: This is my first Narnia story so please be nice. Only constructive criticism if that's okay. Before I get on with this one-shot, I'd like your opinion: should I do a reading the Narnia books after I have finished the HP books.I don't know if I should or not. Leave a review if you think this is a good or bad idea. On with the story;
D: I am not a guy nor am I British. Therefore, I am not C.S Lewis Lucy Pevensie felt lost, anxious, for some reason.
It was Christmas time at the Pevensie's. They had a roast, snow out the back and even a small Christmas tree that would have nicely wrapped presents under it. Yet it still felt like there was something missing.
Lucy didn't like these feelings of being lost and confused.
Upstairs, she was able to hear her older brothers, Peter and Edmund, arguing and the occasional yell of "SHUT UP" from her only sister, Susan. This was considered perfectly normal at the Pevensie's household. The sibling's mother, Amanda Pevensie, was cooking the Christmas dinner, when Lucy came in.
"Hello dear" Amada said, looking up from the turkey.
"Hi mummy" Lucy said quietly.
Amanda frowned at this. Out of all the kids, Lucy was one of the loudest, apart from Peter, if not louder than him. So when Lucy went quiet, it meant something was wrong with her.
"Lucy, are you alright?" Amanda asked her youngest daughter.
"Something's missing" she said finally. Amanda must've looked confused at this; because Lucy added "Someone's missing from Christmas"
The mother of four sighed, realizing what she meant.
"Luce, you remember your dad." Lucy rolled her eyes and nodded. Of course she did.
"Well," Amanda said, not sure how to say this, "he's at war."
Lucy nodded slowly, not sure where this was going.
"I'm sorry, Lucy. He's not coming back this Christmas." Lucy gave a small gasp and did the only thing a five year old would do. She ran to her mother, hugged her tightly and burst into tears.
Amanda felt tears spring to her eyes as she watched her daughter cry into her.
She knew how much this would upset her youngest. Out of all of her children, Lucy was closest to her father, Henry.
"But," Lucy sobbed, "he's - always - home - for - Christmas"
Lucy stared into her mother's eyes, as if asking her to tell her this was all a joke. But the longer she stared into her mother's hazel eyes; she could tell that this was no joke.
After a couple of minutes of crying, Lucy pulled herself away from her mum and said "he'll be home in no time."
Amanda smiled and nodded.
She then asked, "could you please get your siblings?' Lucy beamed and nodded.
Amanda smiled at her back, as she ascended up the stairs, and went back to the kitchen to put the finishing touches on the Christmas dinner. Oh Henry, Amanda thought, if only you could see them now.
Just as she was putting the dishes on the table, Amanda heard loud voices from the hallway, coming down the stairs.
"Peter, it's obvious. Christmas is about the presents" said a voice that Amanda recognized as Edmund's.
"No, it's about celebrating the end of the year and getting ready for the next" said her other son, Peter.
"Guys," Lucy's voice said softly, as they came down the stairs "Christmas is a time for family"

A/N: Hope you enjoyed it. In case you didn't read my author's note up there, it said that I'd like your opinion. Should I do a reading the Narnia books after I have finished the HP books? I don't know if I should or not. Leave a review if you think this is a good or bad idea.
Until next time,
Steph
