Chapters 2,3 and 4 will all under changes as well. Hope you enjoy the improvements.

Peering outside the windshield into the void of darkness that had quickly engulfed the sky, Tamsin sank deeper into her seat cradling her most favorite of all alcoholic beverages - vodka. Liquid meals were her staple as of late, not that she minded, it was what she preferred overall anyway as the liquor dulled everything, alleviating her anxiety.

Tamsin locked her fingers together, fully encasing the neck of the bottle that she had settled inbetween her thighs, and closed her eyes. The events of today were running through her mind. Everything had escalated so fast. What was meant to be a relatively peaceful day shooting pool with Dyson ended up with her somehow babysitting the Succuslut and hunting down her little human companion. Ugh, why did I get involved? Tamsin asked herself, lifting her hand up to her head and kneading her temples, hoping to relieve all the built up tension that had formed from the day.

The question she asked herself kept repeating in her mind. Why? Why had she bothered helping the 'happy sunshine gang', as Evony had so delightfully called them? It just seemed like she was punishing herself, it certainly felt like it, considering she had to put up with Bo whining constantly. She's such a royal pain in my ass! Tamsin groaned and dropped her hand back down, snatching up the bottle and bringing it to her lips to gulp down its contents. She tilted her head further back, swallowing the last of the vodka, and then removed it from her mouth with a satisfied gasp, lapping up the droplets of alcohol that dripped from the bottle onto her lips. She chucked its empty remains into the backseat.

The blonde glanced in the rearview mirror, the moon's brilliant light glinting, grabbing her attention and captivating her, though it was only briefly, as her eyes began to adjust and narrow in on herself, blurring everything else out of focus. She stared at her reflection for several minutes, looking into her tired emerald orbs, contemplating.

What was she doing? Why was she acting like this? Like a child, hating someone for the sake of it because they were told to. It was pathetic, although she had come around now, if only a little.

Tamsin tore her stare away from the rearview mirror, suddenly feeling insecure from her own scrutiny, and then rested her eyes back on the pitch darkness in front of her. The alcohol had finally started to sink in, calming her thoughts and making them more bearable.

Friends, a word that flowed effortlessly out of the Succubus's mouth, a word that had been foreign to Tamsin for centuries. The Valkyrie ran her fingers through her hair and exhaled heavily, the conversation she had earlier with Bo replaying in her head.

"This is all my fault. I am a terrible friend." Bo cringed; her tired limbs were no help as she struggled to lift herself up off the ground.

"Are you kidding me?" Tamsin shook her head skeptically, "My friends wouldn't even walk two blocks if I was stuck in a bear trap."

"Then you need new ones," Bo affirmed out of breath, her fatigue getting the better of her.

Tamsin lifted her brows and shifted her weight onto one leg. "What's so great about Kenzi anyway?" She asked, genuinely intrigued as to why Bo kept the human around.

"She's, uh, she's Kenzi," Bo paused for a few seconds and glanced up at the Valkyrie before continuing, "She's smart and honest and kind. She makes me feel normal and special all at the same time. She is my heart, Tamsin, and I don't even know how long she has been missing! She kept trying to tell me something and I wouldn't even listen to her! Promise me that if something happens. Promise you will find her."

The way Bo spoke about Kenzi really touched her. Not because she spoke about their friendship in such an endearing way, but the fact she spoke that way about a human. It was rare for someone in the fae community to speak so highly of humans because most of them deemed them worthless as they were just their food source, so why even care? That was the majority of the faes' attitudes towards them, and Tamsin didn't take kindly to it. Many Valkyries thought similarly because they've all fought alongside the humans, witnessed their feats and heroics, some even settled down with them.

Tamsin dug her hand into the door's side pocket in search of more booze, but there was nothing other than starburst wrappers lining the bottom, courtesy of Dyson. Why does he insist on munching on this crap? Also why does he keep leaving his shit in my truck?! Tamsin complained internally, rolling the wrapper into a ball and flicking it onto the dashboard, throwing her head back onto the seat.

"Why do I keep coming here?" Tamsin asked herself, referring to the layby she was parked in. It was a nice place, secluded, just how she liked it. She claimed this spot shortly after arriving to her new job, just a place she used to clear her head, well in her case cloud, as she tended to drink herself into oblivion here, more so now than ever since she'd met the Unaligned Succubus and her gang.

Her thoughts immediately went back to Bo and she scrunched her face up in annoyance. Ugh…why won't she just go away? Her and her friendly bunch of suck-face followers too? Maybe not all of them though, Dyson was okay, he'd grown on her. Lauren she'd only seen a few times so couldn't really judge. The only thing she'd pick at was how quiet and controlled she was; she didn't like that. Kenzi she hadn't really spoken to, but she seemed okay, tolerable, which was good enough for Tamsin, but that's as far as she'd go into praising them.

Tamsin sat back up in her seat and leant forward, gripping onto the steering wheel and squeezed. All the thinking and coming to terms with what everything meant to her made her dependency on alcohol all the more strong. The blonde twisted the ignition key, roaring her truck into life, and switched on the lights. She stared at the newly lit road, her mind going over the pubs she could go to, The Dal being the main place her head kept settling on. Tamsin waited for a minute before finally coming to a decision.

"Fuck it." She released the handbrake and skidded off. Destination: The Dal.

The familiar sounds of glasses clinking and cracking pool balls welcomed Tamsin as she entered the old establishment. She immediately made a beeline for the bar, weaving through the locals on the way until she finally reached it. She leant forward, resting on her elbows, craning her neck from left to right in search of the elder.

Trick's head soon popped up from under the bar with a glass in hand and he began to carefully pour a dark ale into it. Tamsin drummed her fingers eagerly on the bar whilst watching the glass being filled, her penetrative gaze felt by Trick as he shot her a side-glance before finishing up the pint and giving it to the customer. The blonde's brows bounced, her dimpled grin on full display knowing Trick was going to serve her next. He ambled on over to the Valkyrie and stopped right in front of her giving her a bored stare.

"The usual?" He asked, already turning to fetch the largest bottle of vodka he had.

Tamsin's stayed firmly in place and nodded, "'Course." She rolled her lips over each other, the need to quench her thirst increasing by the second.

Trick turned back around with Tamsin's one liter special of Everclear Vodka and placed it on the bar in front of her, and then went to fetch a glass.

Tamsin's fingers curled around the neck of the bottle and pulled it closer to her, possessively. "Cheers!" The blonde enthused, unscrewing the bottle cap and bringing it straight to her lips, taking a long draw. The familiar burn trickling down her throat made her moan with satisfaction and she slammed the bottle back down, releasing a small 'ahh', "Dude that shit is the bomb!"

Trick had turned around and watched on, unimpressed by the scene, and then slid the glass he'd just fetched towards her. "Would it hurt to be lady-like for once and drink from the glass?" He sighed, reaching for a wet cloth and cleaning between the taps.

Tamsin's lips tugged to one side, feigning thought. "Uhm, let me see here…" She looked around the room then shrugged, taking another sip of her drink. "No," the blonde replied dryly.

Trick rolled his eyes and continued to wipe the surface, choosing to ignore the Valkyrie's antics. Tamsin's eyes fell to Trick's cloth and she commented, "Doesn't that ever get boring? Oh, and I'm saving you some washing up, so don't complain." She grabbed ahold of her bottle and spun around, leaning back on her elbows, observing the rest of the room.

Trick glanced up from what he was doing and replied, "Life of a barkeep." He frowned eyeing the obstinate Valkyrie. "And one glass won't make much difference," Trick added.

Tamsin looked back at the elder, giving him a dirty look. "Ugh, lighten up old man." She turned back around again, taking another sip of her vodka, eyes flickering over the sea of fae.

"I would lighten up if you'd stop being so darn difficult. Also you mentioning washing up reminded me of what Kenzi said."

Tamsin's ears perked up at the name. "Kenzi? What did she say?"

"That she was going to get me a dishwasher because apparently I'm too old-fashioned and need to, and I quote, 'get with the times.'"

Tamsin snorted, quickly covering her face with the back of her hand. "Ha! You know she is right, right? You're stuck in the stone age old man."

Trick's brows knitted together in thought, then he immediately caught sight of the human bouncing out of the washrooms. "Speak of the devil."

Tamsin brought the bottle to her mouth with a quirked brow and looked around wondering what he was on about. "What?"

"Trickster I hope you haven't forgotten my shots!" Kenzi shouted out over the crowd as she slipped through the bodies.

Trick lifted his head with a small nod and ambled off to make the drinks. Tamsin's face scrunched up at the human that had suddenly entered her space. "Dude, the bar isn't small, go find your own spot," the blonde deadpanned.

"Oh Tammy Tam, always acting so cool." Kenzi playfully bumped Tamsin's arm with her fist, smiling.

Tamsin looked down to where the human touched her, and then glanced back up at her. "What do you want?" She asked.

Kenzi pulled up a stool and perched on it, resting her body into the bar. "I don't want anything but…" She paused, choosing her next words carefully. She didn't know why, but she suddenly felt nervous. "Thank you…" Kenzi muttered quietly, dipping her head shyly.

Tamsin narrowed her stare at the human. She couldn't believe what was happening. Thanking me? For what… she must be-

"Thank you for rescuing me and believing in Bo," Kenzi quickly added, flustered that her words weren't coming out how they were meant to.

"Okay, well this isn't weird at all." Tamsin turned her shoulders so her side was facing the bar and placed her bottle down whilst eyeing the human. "What made you say that?" She questioned.

Kenzi looked stuck. "I-I'm just grateful."

Silence followed the human's expression of gratitude and Tamsin just stood there staring, stunned. No one had ever thanked her before, she was just doing her job, so thanks wasn't really necessary, but the way the human said it really affected the Valkyrie as it was said with such sincerity.

Tamsin analyzed Kenzi for a moment but was brought out of it by the distinct sound of drinks clinking together, her attention now on Trick as he placed the tray of shots down beside her. Tamsin subconsciously lapped at her lips, then noticing Kenzi watching her through her peripheral vision.

"To my rescuer," Kenzi piped up, picking up a shot and raising it to toast the Valkyrie, her gaze locked with the blonde's.

Tamsin quickly glanced at the drink and nodded in acceptance, then effortlessly knocked it back, Kenzi following suit seconds after. "What ever you say." Tamsin gasped out when the liquor hit the back of her throat and she smirked, searching the human briefly, before her mind overrode the alcohol and she went back to being inquisitive. "So why is the Succubust not here?" Tamsin asked, shifting closer to the human.

"W-What?" Kenzi stammered when she noticed the Valkyrie had moved closer, her anxiousness reaching new levels. She quickly fixed her gaze elsewhere – behind the bar. "Well Bo got majorly clingy and I was beginning to suffocate, ya know?" Kenzi waved her hand about for emphasis and continued, "I felt like a newborn being smothered with love, it felt weird." She shuddered thinking about it. "Then Doc came along and they starting arguing so I thought it best for me to scram and buy a drink." Kenzi felt brave and patted the blonde's hand that lay rested on the bar. "And low and behold, I bump into my savior and boom, here we are."

Tamsin's stare stayed fixed on Kenzi. Why hadn't she retracted her hand? Why was she cemented in this position? The blonde felt awkward and out of her comfort zone. "Jealous of their little fuck fest, are we?" Tamsin questioned curtly, her eyes dropping to the brunette's chest, and she tongued her cheek, liking what she saw.

"No." Kenzi's fingers curled around the blonde's hand seeking security. "It's not like that…dude, ya gotta understand."

Realizing Kenzi's reasons, Tamsin pulled away and wiped her hand down her side, not wanting to draw attention to herself for being so close to the claimed person. "Whatever," the Valkyrie said sourly.

Kenzi noticed the sudden change in attitude and thought it best to switch it up. She tapped the Valkyrie's arm then motioned towards the fae males that were huddled up in the corner of the pub. "Ya know those blokes over there?"

"Yes…" Tamsin replied, eyeing the men over the bottle of vodka as she drank. "What about them?" She slammed the bottle back down.

Kenzi's icy blue eyes glimmered with mischief. "Let's play a game with them…"

Hours later the duo had hustled everyone who challenged them. The more they won, the more they drank. Tamsin was loving it, though she kept her cool, not wanting to show anything less than her cocky bitch demeanor; but that was slowly waning, the human being the main culprit with her wits and her pretty distracting backside, the Valkyrie noted, eyeing her up.

Kenzi was now staggering about drunk from the amount of shots she had consumed thanks to the blonde's continuous dares to neck the Jäger she bought. She blamed Tamsin for making her feel the need to drink excessively, the blonde had said 'It's hot when girls can drink', and that little comment had wriggled its way into her consciousness and made her strive to drink all the more. Kenzi didn't know why, but she found herself questioning if the blonde was gay or bi, hell she'd never even thought about it before for herself. Tamsin's sexuality? Damn hot no matter what, and she had no shame in admitting that, Kenzi's thoughts concluded.

The light fae males watched on in shock as the human potted the final ball, winning yet another game. Their macho attitudes were destroyed by the two confident females. Kenzi snatched the winnings and strutted towards her partner, adding a sway to her hips, and then slapped the money on Tamsin's chest. The Valkyrie grinned smugly and lightly patted the back of Kenzi's hand.

"You did good, half pint."

"Yeah, I did." Kenzi's eyes flickered to where the blonde's hand rested and she swallowed. "You weren't so bad yourself, Tammers..." She added, her heart rate suddenly spiking from the lingering touch.

Tamsin's lips curved at noticing the human's skittishness and she boasted, "Yeah, well, I'm just fucking awesome and you know it…" She tucked Kenzi's hair behind her ear and leant in, lowering her voice down to a whisper, "Just one of my many, many skills, sweetheart."

Kenzi's blushed bright red and stumbled back, shakily covering her face with her hands, trying to hide her embarrassment. Her mind went straight into the gutter, well of course it would. The way Tamsin was playing with her was making her mind jump all over the place. She removed her hands, taking a deep breath, and grumbled, noticing Tamsin standing there smugly.

"I need another drink." Kenzi staggered away but didn't get far, her breath left her as she was yanked back into Tamsin's arms.

"Woah there short stack, I don't think you need anymore," the Valkyrie said, steadying the human.

A feeling heated up Kenzi's chest and she looked up. "I'm fine. I just gotta wet my whistle."

Tamsin chuckled, shaking her head in disbelief. "Dude, you've been doing that for the past four hours and you're already wrecked…" She wrapped her arm around the brunette, telling herself that she was only doing this to help Kenzi stand properly and not because she wanted to get closer. Fuck. Tamsin looked away, not liking where her mind was taking her.

Kenzi lifted her hands and rested them on the blonde's chest. This felt good, this felt too good. What the hell is going on? Kenzi cleared her throat, drowning out her thoughts. "Yeah, well, you here went and forced me."

"I forced you? Did I push you up against the wall and force it into you?" Tamsin put her finger to Kenzi's lips. "No…" Their gazes locked.

Hmm, I think I'd like that. Kenzi playfully pursed her lips and Tamsin slipped her finger down Kenzi's chin, away from her kissy face. "But you said it's hot when girls can drink…" She said, and made a face.

Tamsin gave her a look and wrapped her arm tighter around the human. "It is hot when girls can drink," she rasped and grinned, biting her bottom lip. "But, how is it that my comment 'forced' you to drink, hmm?"

Kenzi inhaled and swallowed, the question playing in her mind for a moment. She didn't really know why, but for some reason she wanted Tamsin to see her as this hot, sexy human. She wanted to impress her and show the fae that yeah, maybe she was human, but this human could bloody well drink. Maybe it was both of the above, but what it really came down to was the fact that Tamsin had saved her, been her hero. It may sound cheesy but it was true, she believed in Bo when no one else would. Not only that, but she saw a new side to the bitchy Valkyrie, one that she was growing to like by the second.

"I, err, wanted to teach ya I could drink…yeah," Kenzi trailed off, her mind screaming at her for how stupid she sounded. She swore her head was going to implode at this point, what was Tamsin doing to her?

The Valkyrie chuckled again. The human really was something, no wonder the Succubus kept her around. Kenzi somehow knew how to lighten her mood, a rare feat, considering the blonde never normally gave people the time of day.

Tamsin lidded her gaze, lightly clawing at Kenzi's corset. "…I think it's time for you to go home," the blonde said quietly, suddenly spooked. She balled up her fists and took a small step back, detaching herself from the brunette.

Kenzi blinked, frowning at the Valkyrie. "What? I'm fine Tamsin!" She put her hands on her hips. "The night is still young, we have hours left to drink!"

Tamsin arched her brow and leant back on one leg. "Maybe so, but you're already shit-faced. Much more and you may get alcohol poisoning…look you're only human-"

"Stop right there!" Kenzi clapped her hand on Tamsin's shoulder and shook her lightly. "None of this 'only human' bullshit, and since when do you care?"

It was a fair question. Tamsin crossed her arms over her chest and looked away. As much as the blonde refused to admit it, she wouldn't like to see the fragile human ill or injured. Her opinion of the woman in front of her had changed over the past few hours now that she had gotten to know her.

"I don't," Tamsin said stubbornly, returning her stare to Kenzi.

The brunette stepped forward and gripped onto Tamsin's leather jacket, her actions fuelled by liquid courage. "Bull," she pulled herself closer and stood on her tiptoes, "Shit…I can see right through you. I'm good like that."

Tamsin chewed her lip and lifted her hand to Kenzi's, wanting to pull hers away, but she couldn't. "See through me?" The Valkyrie asked, not liking how transparent she suddenly felt. Normally people had a hard time reading her, but this? Tamsin tugged on Kenzi's hand but the brunette gripped tighter, unwilling to move.

"Yeah…" The brunette rested back down onto her heels and slid her fingers down Tamsin's lapels. "I'm usually the person no one looks at. I see things people don't, I observe. I am what I am because there's always someone else in the spotlight." Her mind wandered to Bo, she loved her with all her heart and she wouldn't have it any other way, but being on the sidelines she got to see the sides of people that others were too blind to see. Kenzi let go of Tamsin's jacket and pressed her palms flat to the blonde's torso. "And you… I can see, more so than others. You keep puttin' up this tough façade, which darl', I know you are, I've seen you in action and damn you're good, no, scratch that... freaking brilliant!"

Responding to the compliment, a small smile crept onto Tamsin's face, though she quickly masked it, feeling uneasy at how open she suddenly was. Why am I listening to a drunk human talk shit about being able to 'see me'? The blonde rolled her eyes at her inner thoughts then clasped onto Kenzi's wrist. "Drunken rambling now? Further proof of the fact that you need no more." Tamsin's free hand delved into her back pocket and grabbed her phone. "I'm gonna call you a taxi."

Kenzi shook her arm about trying to loosen Tamsin's hold, but she wouldn't budge, her wrist was trapped in a vice-like grip. "Gah, Tamsin!"

The Valkyrie went to dial the taxi rank number but Kenzi had other ideas and jumped Tamsin. The blonde, caught by surprise, staggered back and tumbled onto one of the tables. She quickly saved herself with quick reflexes and put her hands back to support herself, Kenzi landing inbetween her legs, head buried into her chest.

Shit.

There was silence between the two. Everyone in the establishment ignored or hadn't heard what had just happened, other than Trick, who saw the whole thing and instantly became concerned. He didn't want anything bad to happen, so he kept an eye out whilst cleaning the glasses.

Kenzi's mouth went dry; she could feel the rise and fall of Tamsin's chest. Her breath became shallow and she began to fidget. She cautiously ran her hands down Tamsin's thighs then stopped, swallowed, and lifted herself up. Their eyes immediately locked. Kenzi couldn't tear her gaze away; she was transfixed as she stared into Tamsin's piercing emerald orbs.

Tamsin was pretty much in the same state, she couldn't move, it was as if everything had stopped. She was surprised that she wasn't angry at the stupidity of the human. Tamsin tensed, her thighs reflexively squeezing Kenzi. The brunette subconsciously pressed herself in more, the crotch of her tight jeans now rubbing against Tamsin's zipper. Her tongue licked its way around the corners of her lips, feeding her desire. The Valkyrie's eyes flickered to the brunette's mouth and then back up to Kenzi's stunning icy blue eyes.

"Now that I've got your attention..." Kenzi breathed, not fully certain that her words came out right, it was rather difficult speaking over the sound of her thumping heart beating loudly in her chest. She tried again, this time a little louder. "I was going to say before you rudely interrupted me-" The following words were muffled and replaced with quiet moans.

Tamsin regained some composure and straightaway reacted to the human's touch, and played on it, wanting nothing more than to tease Kenzi. Punishment for surprising her. The blonde rolled her hips up into Kenzi's body, her zipper rubbing up Kenzi's crotch with extreme accuracy.

Uhhh yes… Kenzi shuddered, chewing her lip. Tamsin grinned wickedly; thoughts of how long the little brunette could last under her teasing made this all the more fun.

"You were saying?" Tamsin's brows lifted and she rolled her hips again.

Kenzi's breath hitched and she clenched her eyes shut. Her body wasn't responding to what she wanted to do, she was stuck with this feeling of desire, a feeling she had never experienced to such a degree before, and with a woman no less. "Wh...mm?"

Too easy. Tamsin started her next course of action, but stopped when she felt someone staring at her. She grunted, displeased with their interruption, and glanced back at the bar to see Trick giving her a warning look. The fun and games were officially over, much to Tamsin's disappointment.

Kenzi's eyes fluttered open and she looked down at Tamsin confused, then her face dropped and she began to blush.

"I'm, I'm sorry, I didn't mean…I…god," Kenzi stuttered, shaking her head, taking several steps back, trying to calm down her heart and the throbbing sensation that had formed in between her legs. "Yeah so…" She turned to look around and nervously planted her hands on her hips, blowing out some air.

Tamsin confidently stood back up and then deadpanned to Trick, "Shall I call you a taxi now?" She glanced back, tilting her phone about in front of her.

Kenzi nodded, wanting to immediately vacate the premises and escape the awkwardness. Tamsin inhaled and smirked arrogantly, and then again went to dial the taxi number.

Kenzi shifted her weight from one foot to the other, uncertain as to why she was suddenly feeling so different. I don't want this to be a one-time thing. I want to get to know her…she's, she's…

"Tamsin," Kenzi started, anxiously twiddling her thumbs. "Can I have your number?" Her blush deepened. She'd never sounded, or acted, like this before. She felt like a teenager asking her crush out. Wait crush? No! Absolutely not. "I mean, we got along tonight and I like you." Like you? Ugh why do I suddenly sound so freakin' lame?! C'mon Kenz, pull it together!

Tamsin considered it for a moment, deliberately biding her time, making the brunette's anxiety increase tenfold. The blonde frowned and went to speak but Kenzi interrupted.

"I mean we do get along right? We're both cool." She laughed hesitantly. "We, er, we're friends, right?"

The Valkyrie's heart warmed at that little word, friends, but quickly she masked it and replied, "Whatever…" Tamsin tilted her head, looking bored. "Just don't message me stupid shit or I'll personally seek you out and beat your ass."

Excitement burst through Kenzi and she waved her hands about excitedly. It was like she had just had Christmas, birthdays, all mother freakin' holidays all in one, and all this excitement over a number? You've lost it Kenz, you're absolutely crazy. She thought to herself, slowly pacing the length of the table to help chill herself out.

Tamsin watched the little display and thought it was sweet, but soon shoved that out of her mind and went to say her number. "You gonna remember this or do I have to write it down? 'Cause honestly that's a lot of effort and I'm-"

"Shoot, just tell me, I can memorize," Kenzi said eagerly.

Tamsin's brow quirked up and she began to recite her number.

"Alright you best get home to your slut, person, fae…" Tamsin pulled a face, "Thing."

Though Kenzi didn't feel drunk anymore, she thought it best she agreed, even though she wanted to spend more time with the Valkyrie and get to know her better… "Yeah, thanks Tamsin."

The blonde waved her hand dismissively and then turned around and headed towards the bar. "Night."

Kenzi smiled and excited the bar, welcoming the cold breeze as she left, her body still hot from their little 'accident'.

Tamsin sat at the bar resting on her elbow and massaging her head. Friends? Hah…She won't remember in the morning, I hope she doesn't. I don't need any distractions. The blonde thought with a sigh. Trick stopped by Tamsin and went to remove the vodka bottle. The blonde shot him a glare and groaned.

"Another."

Trick rolled his eyes. "What's the magic word?" He asked.

Tamsin slumped forward and moaned, then uttered out a childish, "Please." Then she frowned.

"Well done," he said sarcastically, reaching for the other Everclear bottle. "Don't they teach Valkyries manners in Valhalla."

Tamsin palmed her face. "Obviously not," she said boredly. "Hurry up old man, I be thirsty."
