Green Glass Eyes
Just a short ramble about James and his many thoughts about Lily; popped into my head on late night.
James Potter lay awake in his comfortable bed at Hogwarts one late night. His roommates, or so-called "Marauders', were fast asleep. Sirius was snoring loudly off in the corner and some drool was coming out of Peter's widely opened mouth. Remus had 'The Odyssey' draped over his torso while his hands were lunged out of the bed and touching the cold, wood floor. James smiled at his friends, but returned his thoughts to one lovely girl. Lily Evans.
Yes, Lily Evans, the fiery redhead who had held a grudge against James for six years. And James did not even know if she hated him now. They were both heads and Dumbledore practically begged them to get along just this one year. Lily agreed half-heartedly, and actually kept her promise. She and James were civil with one another; they actually had very good conversations that kept James on his toes. They even went to the kitchens once and ordered treacle tarts, honey roasted ham, and 'Jolly Ranchers' (requested by Lily, of course.) James actually enjoyed the muggle candy although the first one that he had almost got stuck down his throat as Lily had not warned him that people only sucked on them. He was also disappointed that they did not have any bogey flavored ones; he had gotten quite fond of earwax and bogey beans after having millions put in his hand by Sirius. But back to Lily.
James had never met someone who he adored more. He loved how they could argue with one another over anything, and how her mouth would curl at just the right extent when she smiled. James loved everything about Lily. Her intelligence, her hair, her sarcasm, her freckles, her L necklace he gave her last Christmas that she wore frequently now, everything. But what he loved most were her eyes. They sparkled when she was intently listening in a lesson (that not James wasn't, er, paying attention to the lesson or anything). Her eyes danced when she laughed, and they shimmered when she was upset. Her eyes were a shade of green that was uncommon. They were a light green, almost emerald, and they looked almost like glass. James now turned around on his side, and closed his own hazel eyes. One day he would be able to look into those lovely green glass eyes whenever he wanted. One day, Lily would be his, and the green glass eyes would be his.
