Remembering Romeo

I remember my great aunt telling me the story of her childhood. She said that her grandmother told her of a descendent of my family named, Juliet. It was said she was passionately in love but with the wrong person. My family and another family were...with no other words to describe it...at war with each other. Juliet met her prince charming at a masquerade and feast although she was meant to meet her future husband Paris. Romeo who was the lucky man to have Juliet's heart gave her his from the moment their eyes met. Unfortunately things took a massive turn for the worse. Romeo and Juliet married the day after they met, yes it was sudden but that was how strong their love was. The wrong turn would be that Romeo was banished from the kingdom of which he lived having to leave behind his family, his home and his now wife. With none of the families knowing of the secret marriage Juliet was still set to wed Paris which she took a great disliking to. After seeking the help of Friar Lawrence who married the couple they come up with a plan to make Juliet's family believe she is dead and after she has been entombed Friar and Romeo come and get her out but Friar Lawrence was moved from his cell which meant he couldn't leave to get Juliet or meet Romeo. As if that was bad enough the news of Juliet reached Romeo but it was only said that she was dead. Returning to her tomb Romeo finds Paris grieving, the two soon find themselves in a battle of rage and Paris is the one to lose. Taking the poison he brought with him Romeo lays down next to Juliet in her crypt and dies with tear stains on his cheeks. Waking up Juliet see's that Paris is dead on the ground and Romeo is dead next to her she can't stop the unbearable pain in her heart. Lifting Romeo's dagger she takes her own life knowing she cannot live without her true love. The two families seeing their son and daughter dead in each other's arms after crying their feud comes to an end.

The night after i was told that tale of love i lay in my bed hoping to find my true love even if it ends like Romeo and Juliet. Now every night ends the same, with the wind whispering the quote: 'Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delight in truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes'. I did find my Romeo and it didn't end the same way Juliet and her Romeo did. On the night before my wedding the wind whispered to me but it said something this time. 'I got tired of waiting, Wondering if you were ever coming around, My faith in you is fading, When I met you on the outskirts of town, And I said
Romeo, save me, I've been feeling so alone, I keep waiting for you, but you never come, Is this in my head
I don't know what to think, He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring, And said
Marry me, Juliet, you'll never have to be alone, I love you and that's all I really know, Go pick out a white dress, It's a love story, just say yes' It was then i realised no one could ever have the love that Juliet had for Romeo, not even me and that just makes me love the story even more so i asked my great aunt to tell me the story again which she did gladly. As the story ended i said goodnight and went to bed but as i stared mindlessly writing on the bed post caught my attention. The writing made tears form and a smile appear on my face, 'Romeo my love my heart belongs to you and only you, all my love Juliet' this wasn't the end of a love story it was just the beginning.

Short but sweet
