Dean struggled against the vines that wound tighter around his chest. His free arms hung useless; he'd dropped his machete at the creeper's initial attack. Dean tried calling out for Sam but the constriction of his chest made breathing difficult. Yelling was damn near impossible. Stupid enchanted plants.
When his rib snapped, his mouth opened in a soundless scream. Dark spots swam in his vision. This was it. The end.
Suddenly, he fell to the ground, wheezing and coughing as oxygen raced into his wounded body. Sam knelt over him, blade in hand.
"Told you salads were bad," Dean gasped.
