Another request from tate310, this time it's "Percy Proves a Point" from Season 2. Enjoy and comment.

Percy worked hard at the new harbor. The workmen needed stone for their building, and Toby helped out too.

Sometimes the loads were too heavy for Toby, and Percy had to do the work himself.

Often, he would see Thomas.

"Well done Percy! Sir Topham Hatt is very pleased!"

An airfield was close by. Percy heard the airplanes zooming overhead all day. The noisiest of all was a helicopter.

"Stupid thing!" said Percy. "Why can't it buzz somewhere else!"

One day, Percy stopped at the airfield.

"Hello!" said Percy. "Who are you?"

"I'm Harold the Helicopter! Who are you?"

"I'm Percy! Welcome to the Island of Sodor!"

"Thank you!" said Harold.

"What great arms you got!" added Percy.

"They help me fly." said Harold. "Don't you wish you can fly?"

"I like railways better."

"But railways are slow and unreliable!" said Harold as he buzzed away.

Later, Percy angrily puffed off to find Toby.

"Harold thinks I'm slow and unreliable!"

Toby had no answer. Percy collected his freight cars and started off still fuming!

Soon he heard a familiar buzzing sound.

"It's Harold." whispered the driver. "Let's race him!"

"Oh yes!" said Percy.

Percy sped along the rails. The cars screamed and giggled along the way.

Then, they spotted Harold up ahead. The race was on!

"Go on Percy!" yelled the driver.

Percy hadn't been this fast in a long time. He was having the time of his life.

"Hurry, hurry, hurry!" he panted to the freight cars.

"We don't want to, we don't want to!" they grumbled.

Percy was racing at warp speed, and Harold was high alongside.

The fireman kept adding coal to Percy.

"Well done Percy!" called the driver.

A distance signal warned that the harbor was nearby.

"Apply the brakes!" called Percy to the driver.

The driver applied the brakes, bringing Percy to a stop.

"It's no use." said Percy sadly. "We've lost."

The fireman raced to Percy' roof.

"We've won, we've won!" he shouted. "Harold's looking for a place to land!"

Percy was overjoyed.

Then, the fireman started to sing a song to congratulate Percy.

Harold said that we were slow

Out of date, and not much use.

But Percy broke the record.

And beat the helicopter!

Percy loved the song.

"Oh thank you!" he said. He loved the last line best of all, and was a very happy engine!
