Name us.

Bloodbathers. That's what you call us now.

And you did not weep, tears were not allowed.

Our deaths a shame.

Not a tragedy.

We have names,

Though you do not remember them.

We have faces,

Though the sands of time have worn them down over the years.

The golden shell held treasure, and around, more treasures near it lay.

To grab a pack, a knife, a sword to help us on our way.

"Come dear friends, do not hold back, I'll treat you well and fair"

The cone beckons for us and to it we run, hoping for a share.

And our reward we get, and for all the same.

We come tumbling down.

By sword, by knife, by bitter blow,

Our light begins to flicker.

We had friends, and families, and perhaps a special someone.

But now they sit and cry for us, for the game that we have lost.

We are the dead.

We are the forgotten.

We are the ones no-longer missed.

Though our families, at first will weep, eventually they will learn

To bury our ghosts.

We did not have good sponsors,

Nor get an 11, or even a 6.

We did not survive, for even one day.

We did not, and do not have names.

Our stylists, were at best, mediocre.

Our skills were non-existent.

Our lives ended at that Golden Cone.

Our names were condemned to rot.

At the arena we shall remain.

To watch new tribute come and go.

But mostly go.

And our ranks shall grow.

Seed of rebellion will be sown,

To be crushed,

Or to sprout up.

But yet our names are still unrecalled.

And though the girl on fire

May still burn one.

Our flame has died, been blown out

The candles swiped away.

And yet, us dead

We are forgotten.

Our names erased from all but history.

The girl with nightlock in her stomach.

The boy with a nothing in his stomach.

The boy with a knife in his stomach.

Your name may be remembered now,

Or for 100 years.

But humanity has a short term memory,

And eventually, you will be forgot.

Though one day, you may look back, after the years

And shed a bitter tear.

Yet, I fear,

Surviving one,

Remembering one,

Burning one,

You still know not our name.
