Jazz's POV:

My little brother, Danny, has never had an easy life. I suppose part of that is my fault. Ever since I was in first grade, I've gotten the best grades in all of my subjects. My parents' were thrilled and always eager to talk about their "stellar daughter". But where did that leave Danny? Stuck in the shadows, desperately vying for our parents' approval. It seemed like everything he did was wrong.

"Danny, don't climb that tree! Danny, don't play with your food! Danny, no playing until your homework is done!"

I think my parents' assumed that intelligence ran in the family. So when Danny turned out to be just a normal kid, their hopes of the "perfect" son went up in flames. So they focused all their praise and approval onto me. And Danny was stuck in the shadows, for something that he couldn't even control. Years passed and not much had changed. My parents' focus shifted from me to their work gradually through time; so I was stuck with Danny. But that didn't turn out to be a bad thing; in fact, it made our bond closer. Finally, I got to be the big sister I always dreamed of being. For years we stuck together like glue. That all changed after the accident. After that fateful day, Danny was never the same. He became isolated from everyone except his two friends. Me, being the overbearing sister I am, reached out to try and help him. Yet the more I pushed, the more he pushed away. So when I stumbled upon his secret, I got to see how his life had taken a turn for the worst. His normal routine consisted of school, where he was constantly bullied, and ghost fighting. And when Danny finally came home, around twelve or one most nights, he would be covered in deep dark cuts and bruises. I would sit outside his door, struggling to hold back tears, and watch my baby brother bandage his wounds as best as he could. It was heartbreaking to see what pain he had to endure for our thankless town. In the eyes of almost everyone, including our parents, Danny was a monster. But I knew better. Danny Phantom, my thoughtful baby brother, is a hero. And he always will be.
