Rings Around Elwood
A/N: This is a crossover between Sonic and Arthur. The request and premise for this one-shot came from my boyfriend. Thanks, Keith, because this piece turned out great! I hope you all enjoy this and the other crossover ideas we came up with.
It was Sonic's first day at Lakewood Elementary. He was placed into Mr. Ratburn's class, and he was immediately welcomed by his new classmates. He thought Buster was particularly awesome because he made such funny jokes, and Sonic was eager to live life in his new home town of Elwood City.
But Sonic had a problem. He was a kleptomaniac addicted to stealing golden rings. He'd been forced from his old home town when everyone found out, and he wondered if he'd be able to resist the urge now that he was in Elwood City.
It would be difficult. So many people were married, their gold wedding bands shining on their fingers. Sonic felt his mouth water. He wanted those rings, he needed those rings. He plotted on how to take them without anyone noticing. He tried to stop himself from these thoughts, but he couldn't stop them. A plan came into mind, and that night, he ran through Elwood City hitting every home with gold bands.
Police responded to dozens of robbery calls. They quickly realized whoever burglarized the homes was on a crime spree of sorts. They took notes from witnesses, but no one saw the thief, just a blue blur running through their home.
Finally, Sonic hit the right house. A state-of-the-art security system captured his image as he blurred through the home, stealing several golden rings on his way out. The police watched the footage but didn't recognize him at first, so they sent the video to the local news stations. The kids of Lakewood Elementary, including Buster, immediately recognized him as their new classmate.
The next day, the kids told their parents and police what they knew. The police decided to let Sonic go to school. It would only be his second day, but it would be very memorable. During a class trip to the bathroom, Principal Haney and a police officer approached Sonic. He was at his locker for some reason, and Mr. Ratburn walked over to see why. The kids curiously followed, and they immediately cried out with joy:
Principal Haney opened Sonic's locker and almost a hundred golden rings flooded to the floor. The kids cheered as Sonic tried to run through the crowd. The police officer caught him, handcuffing his wrists and ankles so he couldn't go anywhere. Sonic was taken from the school in a police car while students watched from inside.
"I'm glad I wasn't a weird new kid like that one," Ladonna said, "but it'll make a good story one day."
"Tell me about it. He stole my grandmother's ring from my mom's chest!" Buster exclaimed. Muffy's family lost several rings, including some golden hulahoops she had in their garage. Sonic had done so many very bad things, and the students knew they'd never see that crazy blue hedgehog again.
