The Dog ran, her swift paws pounding on the icy pavement. No one in the Ambulance bay seemed to notice her as she bent her gentle, spotted head and pressed her muzzle to the human's cheek. She whined, lying down beside the shivering human, keeping her warm.
"Sa-" The human began to say, her voice shaking as she shivered violently. She looked into the gentle blue eyes of the Dalmatian, and weakly sat up. She held onto the dog, seeking comfort from the familiar warmth of the dog's fur.
"My leg-" She had no idea why she was talking to a dog, much less expecting it to help her.
"STAY HERE" The Dog's eyes seemed to say. She gave her one last lick on the cheek, then raced inside the hospital, paws skittering on the cold linoleum floor.
