Hey! This is my first Absolute Boyfriend fic. I just finished reading the manga today, so sorry if something's wrong.

I noticed the lack of Gaku x Riiko fics and frowned. Personally, I think Gaku is hot, and I think they would be cute together.

Anyways, I hope you like it. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Absolute Boyfriend!

Gaku sighed at his Takoyaki stand that he had so gracefully taken from his mother. He had quite his job at Kronos Heaven earlier. He just didn't feel like a man whenever he stood up the higher ups. Besides, he felt he had stayed there too long, and he needed to do something different.

Now, selling Takoyaki wouldn't have been his first choice, but since it was his family's business, it was kind of his responsibility to take it over. After a while though, he came to not mind making Takoyaki. It was just that he didn't get very many customers, so he became bored very easily.

He sighed again. I seriously need a girlfriend…he thought.

Just then he heard someone else sigh. His head snapped up. A customer! Then he saw who it was and blinked. Riiko-chan?

He smiled. "Hey the girl over there! Miss!" He called. She looked up at him and he grinned. "Care for some Takoyaki?"

She came over slowly. He was surprised that she hadn't realized it was him yet. She came over and took one. She finally looked up at him and gasped.

"Gaku-kun?!" She exclaimed, shocked. "W-what are you doing?!"

"Selling Takoyaki." He deadpanned. "Nice to see you too."

"But how…what…?"

"Just try some! It's really good."

Riiko sighed and took some. She ate it and smiled. "It is good." She agreed.

He smiled. "I quit a while ago."

"Why?"

He shrugged. "I guess you could say I got tired of it."

She laughed, something she hadn't done in a while.

Gaku noticed that she had changed. Immensely. She was a lot more low key, and she wasn't immature like she was when they first met. However, he couldn't overlook the way she would suddenly get quiet and stare into space, probably thinking of Night.

He didn't understand it. How could a figure have so much impact on this girl? Nevertheless, how could a figure get so attached like he had been? They were supposed to be devoted, not attached. Night had caused a lot of trouble for them, but he was a good guy…figure…whatever.

"Well," She sighed. "I should go. Bye, Gaku-kun." She said, waving. He smiled back, but when she left he frowned.

What if…what if she became his girlfriend? Of course, right now wasn't the right time, but maybe some day, if he got to know her…

No. Night had a job for him.

But…why did he not want to do it?

He pulled the letter and ring out of his pocket. He was supposed to mail it to Soshi. He stared at it. He liked Riiko, and as strange as it seemed right now, he wanted to at least try to get her attention more.

Swallowing the small guilt that rose in his throat, he stuck the letter back in his pocket. If things didn't work out, he would mail it right away.

He felt a little bad that he was defying what Night wanted, but he could watch over her like he wanted Soshi to do. Maybe he wouldn't be able to make her completely happy like Night had, but he could at least try to cheer her up.

Sorry, Night, he thought, but I have to try.
