Another one for 30kisses! Still no kissing. ;

Warnings: None, really. Description of Manx's visits, detached angst.

Disclaimer: Still don't own WK.

---Normal---

It isn't surprise that causes the jolt in Omi's core when he looks up to see Manx framed in the doorway of the Koneko. This has happened too many times for him to be surprised. He knows what will happen next: how Yohji will herd the customers out, how he will mollify the objectors with promises, flattery and blown kisses.

Manx will lead them into the basement, heels clinking on the metal steps. Ken will throw himself down on the couch; Yohji will lounge against a wall while Aya hovers, taciturn, in a corner. Omi will curl himself into a chair and attempt to decide what should be done with his hands.

Manx will run the usual video, with the usual commands issued by the usual silhouette and then ask the usual question: Aya, Ken and Omi will all be in. They always are. Yohji will probably come along, too; he's been taking more missions lately.

Then come the preparations. Omi will research the target, or not, depending on what information Kritiker has given them. A plan will be created, based on the target's schedule, the layout of the building where the target will be, and what is known of the target's habits.

Target, Omi thinks. Something to be hit. It's a de-humanizing word. That's probably why they use it.

Weiß will leave in the night. Darkness to cover dark deeds, Omi supposes. It's appropriate. They will slip (hopefully) unnoticed into the building, and wait for the proper time. Then there will be blood and death, though Omi will not be near either.

He wonders, now and again, whether it was cowardice or merely his humanity that made him choose long-range weapons.

When it is finished, Weiß will return home, and do their very best to become nothing more than florists once again. Omi will do his homework, letting numbers and English phrases push recent events to the back of his mind. He still won't be able to sleep. He never can, after a mission.

No, Omi isn't surprised when Manx appears at the door. He has been an assassin too long for anything about his job to surprise him anymore.

---end---

::sigh:: I really need to stop doing these last-minute. Here's hoping it turned out all right.
