The stories about Commander Andrea Shepard's dancing are almost as legendary as she is. Unfortunately, all of those stories tend to be negative. When James Vega caught wind of them, he was determined to see just how bad she was for himself. It took a little bit of flirting and a lot of skill at the poker table before he got her to agree to a night of dinner and dancing on the Citadel.

Shepard had a little bit of a secret though. While it was very true that her dancing in the clubs on Omega and the Citadel were nothing to write home about, that did not mean she didn't know how to dance. The truth was she could dance pretty well, she just didn't try to in the clubs. Whenever the ship she was serving on docked for shore leave, Shepard would make the effort to go with her crew to relax in the bar. She quickly learned however that her rank and "legendary" status meant that people weren't quick to relax around her. In order to break the ice, she would purposely dance like a complete fool. If there's one thing you must understand about Commander Shepard, it's that she cares about her crew. If it took her dancing like an idiot to get them to laugh and have a good time, she'd happily do it.

When Shepard and Vega arrived at the restaurant, they had a night of pleasant conversation, great food, and (to Vega's surprise) really good dancing. She even ended up teaching him a few moves. The night overall was a resounding success and one Shepard would remember for a very long time to come. Vega did something that very few people before him have ever managed to do. He reminded her that she was a mere mortal and that even she was allowed a few moments of happiness, no matter how fleeting they may be.
