Chapter One: New
I pulled into the local food store, hoping to just pick up some food for the week, I knew this was always a challenge because I LOVED food. I'd go in and start picking up food and end up paying $100 for a ton of food that would go bad over the next three weeks. This time, though I did at least make a menu for the week and a grocery list. I walked into the store headed for the meat department, that's when I saw him. He was so handsome; he had bed-rid copper hair, sticking out in all directions. His eyes were the most beautiful emerald green I'd ever seen. He was at least 5'8" if not taller! He wore a dark suit with a royal blue tie that made his gorgeous eyes pop!
I was staring at him so long I ran into something. I looked forward to see a woman staring back at me. She was about my height, brown hair brown eyes, etc. And she appeared to be pregnant. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" I said surprised. She smiled at me. "it's okay, I get distracted sometimes too." I smiled. "I'm Bella, I'm new here." I said nonchalantly. "Angela Cheney, It's a pleasure to meet you." She said in a soft happy voice. We spoke for a few minutes, and went on our ways. It was my first week in this town and there finally seemed to be some good coming from it. I arrived home, after ACTUALLY sticking to my grocery list, and tore out some baby carrots to munch on while I put the rest of the groceries away. It was nice, being able to just do what I wanted when I wanted, not like in college where I had to work the night shift at the local gas station, while keeping up with 18 hours of college. I frowned remembering the rainy days in Dublin Ireland, studying abroad with the Foreign Study program at Dartmouth University. It was a grueling four years, but I did it.
I managed to not only major in English with a minor in Literature, but I was top of my class. I'd put on a few pounds along the way thou and needed to drop it quick. Thus—I was munching on carrots. Ugh I hated the darn orange things, but they were so much less calorically dense than something like crackers or bread![AN: Sorry, I'm trying to lose like 30 lbs. before my parents come to visit in October, so if I start writing about how lazy she is or how she's getting like McDonalds or something, I'll start going back to my "fat girl" ways, so the more I incorporate healthy living into my writing, my thinking, my life the easier this will become for me.]I put the chicken in a marinade of lime, tomato and cilantro, and flipped on the television. Watching TV always got me through my damn workouts. I turned on my treadmill and started running 4 miles an hour was my limit though, any faster and I'd be toppling over from my clumsiness!
A half hour went by quick and I went back to the kitchen to whip up some Spanish Chicken and whole grained Spanish rice. I enjoyed dinner, thinking about the handsome man at the market today. I got a little wet thinking about him. Well, little purple bullet, you will be used tonight! [I won't describe sex too much, but I will add in details like this!] I went to my room hoping to get some time on reading one of my favorite books, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
As the clock ticked later and later, I realized I'd need some sleep. I started work as the English teacher for the local High School in the morning. I set my coffee maker to automatically brew at 0630. I dreamed about him. Who was he? I wondered what he did for a living? Was he married? Did he want kids? My alarm clock beeped at me for till I dragged my butt out of bed to shut it off. I walked to the kitchen to get some of my coffee.
