... Well, yeah.
Not the 11th chapter (which will be coming real, real soon,it is finished D: ) but kind of a kick starter for anyone who will stumble upon my story for the first time. This chapter is by Shark's P.O.V., but the telling does not change in the coming chapters, hehe ^^
I also made a couple of changes to the chapters, not plot-wise, but added and subtracted sentences to have more... feelings? xD You will understand what I mean ^^
So... I hope anyone who starts reading this story / having a restart will like it ^^
Disclaimer: I do not own A.T.O.M. Honestly, there would be a third season, people :(
...
I don't know if you dudes ever heard about this. Everything, every single, simple thing has the potential to change in a small amount of time. And no matter how big or small that change is, it always affects the people and events it is connected with. I think it's called butterfly effect.
I'm not quite sure where that came from. All I know is that that one particular Sunday somehow didn't seem to start the usual way. Not for me. I didn't know any particular reason for that kind of feeling. But the potential of change hung up in the air like ominous rainclouds covering the sky.
And it was bothering me to high heavens.
That was probably the reason why I was rubbing my temples when I entered the living room and walked over to the adjacent kitchen counter. My friends were already there, minus King. I gave them a mumbled 'Morning,' and walked over to the refrigerator. Pulling out the milk bottle, I turned to the cupboard to get a bowl. Nothing like the good old cereal to get my mood up again. Maybe along with a cup of coffee. Yeah, my stomach has its way to digest all of these and not feel any kind of uneasiness.
I returned to the counter and slumped down on a chair. As I began feasting on my lazy breakfast, I glanced at my friends.
It has been barely over a year since our friendship began. Gee, it was both wonderful and a bit awkward to see how quickly and strongly our relationship grew. For anyone who saw us from outside, it would be hard to believe that we met in a reality show, competing for the ultimate prize. Only through Axel's leadership we were all able to make it to the end. What was the prize, you ask? We became test drivers for the biggest industry firm in the city, the Lee Industries. Good payment. House for your own with friends (you barely know at the time, but all the same). What more could you ask for?
An added bonus to our then newly formed team was a jail break from the notorious criminal Alexander Paine, who is also the suspected culprit of the disappearance of Axel's father. Propelled by this agitating fact, Axel tracked Paine down, but became a captive by the man later. We reached them just in time to prevent Paine from killing Axel. From that day on, we were on Paine's tail, to protect the people of Landmark City and to find the truth about Axel's father.
There were - still are - five of us. Like the fingers of a hand, held together by our determination to bring Paine down, inseperable.
Axel had been our leader from that day on, a good strategist and an even much better friend. King, other than being extremely muscly and strong, is also the brain power of the team, and is a very gentle and emotional person despite his somewhat intimidating looks. Hawk is the airheaded pilot (kind of fits, I think) who, despite his ambition to become a super movie star, never let us down.
And Lioness... The only girl in our team, as strong as she is beautiful. As her jade green eyes locked with mine, I couldn't help but turn my gaze down, replying only half-heartedly to her warm smile. These eyes, the color of which I adored secretly to no end, seemed to be only for Axel. And you would've thought that I started getting used to that, after all the hints that the two like each other - a lot. I don't know what exactly my problem is, but sometimes, just sometimes, I couldn't help but wonder what would it be like if I just tell her my feelings. Or would I ever be able to look at her or Axel's face after that.
Oh, I'm Shark, by the way. The laidback and easygoing surfer from the Alpha team.I guess you can define me as a mostly happy-go-round person, who is not easily fazed by anything. Well... Almost anything.
