It was him who said that the ones who left remained a part of you, and that gave Enid comfort when she first heard it. Now? Now she had no clue what to think as she smoothly slid her fingers into the supply drawer. The one thing that she knew would give her some amount of closeness to him, was in there. When she first got the idea to celebrate Glenn by holding onto the green balloons, she thought she was stupid. Now she realized it was the only thing she had.

"Looking for something?" Enid jumped, before turning to face the one who was in charge of the stock and inventory in the community. Olivia had clearly mastered the art of sneaking up on someone who was unaware.

"Balloons," Enid murmured.

"What for?" Olivia pressed, moving behind her to stock the shelves of soup cans. "Gonna have a party?"

I wish. Parties had been a long time ago when the world had not turned its back on her; when parties were an everyday happening for her. Now the only thing she had to look forward to was the odd slice of pie that was not expired or made her sick.

"No...it's personal." Locating the bunch of bright green deflated balloons, Enid pocketed them and quietly slid out the door.
