She was always an angel
our Daddy said
she just didn't have her wings

She was our guardian
our protector, our mother,
the one whose waist we did cling

She was the one
who read us bedtime stories
and sang us to sleep at night

She was the one
who greeted us after school
With sandwiches cut how we like

She was gentle and kind
she had nearly no flaws
everyone had to look up to her

She was an example
of how everyone should be
we are proud we could call her Mother

But her life was cut short
by a clumsy, fat man
whom we had to unwillingly forgive

She brought us into this world
and taught us so much
her life was certainly well lived

She is with God now
And while it is hard,
We must move on to new things

But we are assured knowing
she's where she belongs
our angel has earned her wings
