Tales To Come.
.
In times to come the bards will tell
the tale of how the nine,
Against all odds did fight the dark
and Saurons cruel designs.
To win for all an end to war,
for us to live in peace,
Amidst the beauty of the world,
All toil and strife to cease.
.
Yet in the stories they recite
will they describe the pain
of loss, of hurt, of sacrifice,
the unrelenting stain
on hearts once pure, now blighted with
those necessary deeds,
performed in service to a world
unheeding of its needs.
.
Or will they glorify the fight
in splendid words so fair,
and speak of wondrous battles in
a manner unaware
of just what it is like to be
immersed in death and gore.
The stench of blood and ruined life
that haunts you ever more.
.
No, stories never will express
all that there is to say,
And only those who lived it through
will know how they must pay.
But people need some hopes and dreams
in which they can believe.
And tales of heroes, rings and quests
are easier to weave.
.
So listen to the bards but keep
an ear open too
for deep between the lines you'll hear
the real tale coming through.
Of nine whose lives were changed beyond
belief by all that passed
But never faltered once upon
the path 'een at the last.
.
A/N If you made it this far thanks for reading. I hope this makes sense but tried to express how stories don't always match with reality.
