Chapter 1: The Necromancer
At the valley of the Earth Forge, the Necromancers were attacking the Priest Enchanters. Alia's mother; a Battle Priestess was called to the field. Alia arrived shortly after she received news that her mother had fallen.
She met her mother's attacker, a very handsome Necromancer. His black aura was thick and was unbelievably strong. Alia wanted him dead, for all he did to her mother; she'd make sure of it.
The Necromancer looked at her, with an odd expression on his face. What was he thinking? Alia thought. She shook her head. Death, he was thinking about how she'd kill him.
Alia said one of the few attacking spells she knew. "Exurere!"
But the Necromancer was clever. He countered her spell with a single word. "Resisto."
The magic of her spell vaporized. Alia cursed in her mind. This Necromancer was no pushover.
"You can do way better than that, Alia," He said. Alia scowled at him, to hide her shock that he knew her name. But she indeed knew a stronger spell.
"Poenas petat vitam!"
The spell shocked the Necromancer, which -sadly- only knocked him off his feet. And, considering the fact that Alia's spell was a Punishment spell that was bound to her mother's pain, it meant that her mother was not dead. Alia took the time to run back to her mother and heal her mother of her wounds.
"Mother? Please," Alia whispered. "Mother!" Her words only seemed to worsen her mother's pain.
"Don't call me that!" her hoarse whisper cried. "I am not your mother!" Alia gasped. Not her mother? What was she talking about? She was certainly delirious, Alia thought.
"Of course you are, Mother. The magic must have-"
"I am not!" She cried, louder and much harsher. "Your mother is… she is…" her voice wavered. What was wrong? Then she remembered. The Necromancer. Alia turned her head to see him standing behind her, his cold grey eyes staring at them both.
"Torpesco!" The flash of bright light blinded Alia and she fell to the ground, unconscious.
Alia awoke and looked about her. She was at home. In her room. In her soft pink bed. "Mother!" she called. Silence.
She looked out the window, it was dark out. It made the floral designs on her curtain look like hands clawing to get into her room. It sent a chill down her spine. How did she get here? Last she remembered was her mother telling her she wasn't her mother. She groaned and buried herself under her blanket.
She felt something in her room. It was taking in all the light in her room, as well as her magic, and made her almost immobile at the heaviness of the air. She knew it was cowardly to pretend sleep, so she got up from under her covers and looked about her room once again. It was pitch-black. She could only feel the life-force of the thing her room.
Cold piercing blue eyes stared at her, and Alia instantly knew who was in her room.
"Get out, now!" Alia whispered harshly to the Necromancer. There was harsh laughter.
"Or what?" he replied. Alia growled. He stepped closer, and Alia reached wildly for something she could hit him with. Something grabbed her arm and shoved her out of her bed. Alia screamed as she hit the floor. Her arms were wrenched behind her back, and the Necromancer tied her wrists together. "Do as I say, and you'll be fine." Alia's breathing came fast as she was being taken away. Would she really "be fine" like he had said? She closed her eyes and wished her mother were here, even if she really wasn't.
