I Choose You
When it started, Sig Curtis was in a dark place. Izumi had died and although Sig told himself he would be strong, it was just too hard. He was lonely, and the world was too quiet. Running into Gluttony was something he never imagined would happen, and instead of breaking into some kind of fight, he started conversation. It was strange, conversing with an old enemy that wasn't even his enemy. Not really, at least.
Their meeting somehow turned into a friendship that quickly bloomed, and it wasn't long until Gluttony brought him to his Father. Somehow, they fit together - Sig Curtis, Gluttony, and Father – like pieces of some sort of abstract puzzle.
Sig Curtis began to find hope again, and with that he also found love. He found love in the relationship between the three of them, and it was so overpowering that he felt nothing but love. There was no shock in his revelation, no disgust or anger, and when he was so readily welcomed into their arms Sig just knew that he belonged there.
Light filtered through the living room curtains, and Gluttony hummed curiously as he dipped his hand into the rays. Father watched him from the couch, breathing in and out quietly, simply observing. His eyes went from Gluttony to Sig as the burly man came out of their bedroom, finally awake.
"Morning," he mumbled.
Father responded with a soft 'hmm' while Gluttony continued waving his hands around in the light. Sig took a seat beside Father, and joined him in watching the intrigued homunculus. Seeing him so interested in the sunlight that slipped into the room was refreshing, and Sig exhaled deeply, sinking into Father's side.
"Sleep well?" He asked.
Sig nodded, managing to work an arm behind Father in order to pull him closer, "Has anyone made breakfast yet?"
"Breakfast?" Gluttony ceased his actions and faced the two men. His hands fell onto his stomach, which began growling. Sig took that as a 'no'.
A chuckle escaped from Father's throat, and Sig couldn't help but smile, "I'll go ahead and make something."
Adoration gleamed in Gluttony's eyes as he watched Sig stand and make his way to the kitchen. He was so lucky to have someone that would make food for him. He was also lucky to have a father that cared so much for him. This was a good life – a simple life, and that was what Gluttony had wanted most. In fact, it was what they all had wanted most.
They had life figured out, and there was nothing else they wanted but each other. Life was just so right when they were together, and although they weren't perfect, they still connected so beautifully. The three of them had finally got it right – finally found what they were looking for.
They found each other.
