Rose POV

I sit down on the train ready to begin my fifth year at Hogwarts. I am so nervous… this year we will be doing our OWLs! I sit down in the compartment reserved for the Potter/Weasley clan (+ friends). We have our own compartment due to the fact that there are so freaking many of us and the fact that Prof. Longbottom is so nice. It is actually two compartments with the wall knocked in and extra benches put down but even now it is still too small. I sit down next to Albus and Alice Longbottom, my best friend.

"How was your summer?" Alice asks.

"Not bad," I reply. "Stayed with these nutters at the Burrow. What about you?"

"Went away with dad and mum to Egypt. Dad was mainly there for the plants so me and mum went to explore the Pyramids while dad collected specimens for Herbology this year."

I give an involuntary shudder.

"So Al," I said. "Apart from losing your mind with us lot, what did you do?"

"Not much, had a pretty quiet summer to be honest. Not much happening"

"Bit like your bank statement, Weasley."

Ugh, Malfoy, the definition of the word git. He's sitting on the other side of Al. I don't know what Al sees in him to be honest. He is sitting there with an annoying smirk on his annoying face. We are always arguing; it drives Al up the wall.

"I have better things to do with my time Malfoy than listen to you," I reply.

"What? Like snog me?"

I feel myself blush, a little present from my dad, thanks. Malfoy smirks, satisfied.

"Would you like me to wipe that smirk off your face with my fist?" I stand up my fist clenched, ready to throw a punch.

"Stop! Both of you calm down!" Al shouts. I sit down huffily and open my book. The whole compartment is silent.

"What?"

Everyone very hurriedly looks away and becomes very interested in their hair or shoes. I scowl and return to my book. Soon everything is back to normal.

"You really got angry back there," Alice whispers to me later on.

"Malfoy does that to me"

Alice giggles.

"What?"

"Nothing," Alice said with another giggle.

"No, spit it out,"

"Well," Alice giggled again. "It's just that you and 'Malfoy' would make a good couple." She let out yet another giggle. I elbowed her in the arm and she stopped giggling.

"No we would not!"

"Yes you would!" Alice said, rubbing her arm. "You're so similar it's scary!"

"I am nothing like that git"

"Think what you want but in my eyes you're a match made in heaven!"

I elbowed her again.
