A/N: Moment I enjoyed from Home I. Kara's thoughts.

"I just want you to know, Kara,I'm your friend. I love you. If there's anything you want to talk about, anything you want to get off your chest, then I'm here for you."

She bounced the ball off the bulkhead again, paused. Had she heard that right? Really? She had wanted to hear those words, but...it seemed like ages ago. Before the nightmare on Caprica, before everything.

"Anyways, whenever you want to talk, just...just let me know, okay?"

Lee stood, jamming his hands awkwardly into his pockets, and turned to leave.

"What was that middle part again?" she called out, staring at the floor.

"Hmmm? Whaddya mean?"

She stood, leaning on the chain-link. Kara's eyes narrowed. Did he? In his heart of hearts, did he love her? Did he just say it for shits and giggles, or did he mean it?

"Did you say you love me?"

A nervous chuckle from Lee, as he placed his hands on his hips. He tripped over his words, starting to turn a little red. He slipped.

"Well...ummm..."

The edges of Starbuck's mouth twitched.

"Lee Adama loves me."

He scrambled for words.

"All I meant was..."

"No, seriously. Very sweet. You love me."

He shook his head with a chuckle, turning away. Too late.

"No, you love me. You can't take it back. There's no take-backs."

Her voice was hurt, questioning. That wasn't the way it worked. You couldn't say something like that without meaning it, especially coming from him. No, she decided, he was serious.

"You're dreaming it, Kara!"

"Ya love me!"

"Dreamer!"

"Okay," she murmured to herself. She didn't know why it was important, but he loved her. And strangely, after that it was him instead of Anders on her mind. The ball bounced off the wall again, and she grinned. He loved her.
